Ghosty Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 And now I've spotted a Y plate low roof smiley Transit minibus...
eifion Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Late Allegro VDP spotted, rather oddly, in this month's Citroen Owners' Club magazine. Lord Sterling, laser wheels, shaun1706 and 1 other 4
Ghosty Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 That was on the tat thread a while ago I think, it's puzzled us all already!
Owain71 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Saw a Reliant Scimitar GTE on a G plate (1989/90) the other day, can't be many that late knocking around. 10+ years ago I saw a '95/'96 N-prefix metallic blue Middlebridge Scimitar in the Solihull area...
Inspector Morose Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Maybe princess Anne visiting the Midlands? laser wheels 1
eifion Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 According to the magazine, the answer to the Allegro is that "the original owner did not register the car for over six years as he waited for a personal number plate to be available". I can't imagine having that a level of patience. Banger Kenny and laser wheels 2
Junkman Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Saw a Reliant Scimitar GTE on a G plate (1989/90) the other day, can't be many that late knocking around. Middlebridges were built until 1990, no?78 in all, so rare indeed.
forbeslongden Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Found this one on some French car page on Facebook. I haven't seen many 106/Saxo's that were sat about since 53' reg is pretty common but an 04'? Not so much....
forbeslongden Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Here's an eBay jobbie, not the latest they go to, but one of the last van ones I've seen. DS20 1
HH-R Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm sure I saw a 59 plate Perodua Kelisa today, surely they weren't still for sale here by then?
Negative Creep Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Was driving behind a P plate 205 on the way home, did they ever sell them on an R or had the 206 taken over by te?
Partridge Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 ^^The 206 never took over from the 205. The 106 was launched after the 205 was discontinued, but wasn't a direct replacement for the 205. The 206 was a "Oh crap, we need do need a direct replacement after all!" car. More useless information available on request.
AnthonyG Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I think the last 205s were P plates in late 1995 or early 1996, they were usually pretty basic special editions such as 'Inca' etc which could also be had in 106 flavour if memory serves me right. They were popular in West Wales for the same reasons as rural France, unburstable, simple, frugal etc, and some still survive despite nearly 20 years of living in dampness. The 205 was originally 'replaced' by the 106, and later on the lower engined versions of the 306, as Partridge says, that didn't really work out. But during the mid nineties you could buy a 106, 205, or 306 from your friendly Pug dealer, as they all came out of different factories. I suspect Pug were probably taken aback by the continued popularity of the 205 after its newer brethren were launched. Partridge 1
Negative Creep Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 If it helps it was red diesel with the GTi type kit on it (GTRD or something?)
Partridge Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 No, that's just Welsh people. They were popular in West Wales for the same reasons as rural France, unburstable, simple, frugal etc, and some still survive despite nearly 20 years of living in dampness.
Partridge Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I had the pleasure of going for a ride in a 205 Junior today. Great little cars, you can see why people moaned about the 206.
sierraman Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The Saxo would have been severely out its depth by 2004 if its an 04 plate. I mean by that point the new Fiesta was out, the Clio had been facelifted with the higher NCAP etc... They must have been giving them away!!
HH-R Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I had the pleasure of going for a ride in a 205 Junior today. Great little cars, you can see why people moaned about the 206.206s are funny, they're supposed to be total shit but survive to surprisingly high mileage/old age/roughness.
overrun Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 If it helps it was red diesel with the GTi type kit on it (GTRD or something?)I used to run my 106 on red diesel, too.
Partridge Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 206s are funny, they're supposed to be total shit but survive to surprisingly high mileage/old age/roughness.They're pretty robust by most accounts and hard to kill, just fucking shit to drive and generally "meh". Timewaster 1
forbeslongden Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 If it helps it was red diesel with the GTi type kit on it (GTRD or something?) Yeah that was mine, I've got two like that P255 YTA which has an SRD badge on the back and P804 HKC which is a 1124cc petrol also in red.
forbeslongden Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 It's funny, I posted the '04 plate Saxo thinking it was the last prefix I'd see..... Behold, down in humble Plymouth seems a little better than a humble base model too. 500tops 1
forbeslongden Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 These are my two late plate 205's. They were both base spec, the front car was dressed by my Dad and the back one I bought last year purely because I want to corner the market on late Cherry GTi look-a-likes laser wheels, worldofceri, Tartan58 and 1 other 4
Jim Bergerac Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Those Clios continued on a fair bit after the MK3 came out. They called them Campus (like with the last R5s long after the MK1 Clio came out) to differentiate them and the latest ones. They even got a re-styled arse-end after a while.
twosmoke300 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Had an 06 mk2 facelift punto dropped into me today . The grande must have been out for a bit by then
bub2006 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 There is a T reg Peugeot 405 estate up the road from me. I'll try get a pic forbeslongden 1
beko1987 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 A friend of mine has a mk2 05 plate campus
