Spiny Norman Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Regular readers of the For Sale section might have spotted a few cars oop north (3 in Scotland, one in the Lake District) all being offered for sale and quickly having 'Pending' tags added. Fevered secret negotiations followed and today in what must be a forum first, myself, @Jazoli, @Split_Pin and @aldo135 all met up at a secret location in Glasgow for a bit of keys-in-the-bowl action where everyone drove home in a different car to the one they arrived in. So... Jazoli now has my Mercedes SLK, Split Pin now has Jazoli's BMW 330 convertible, Aldo has Split Pin's BMW E60 and I've got Aldo's VW Polo. Pleasure meeting you all again chaps, hope everyone had a good journey home. 😛 yes oui si, Split_Pin, sutty2006 and 27 others 20 1 9
loserone Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Never in the history of autoshite have four automatic vehicles sold in such a short time, nevermind one of them being an SLK yes oui si, Jazoli, Spiny Norman and 5 others 3 1 4
sutty2006 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Now expecting 4x poo counts, 4x pez shots and 4x woolarding poses. carry on. eddyramrod, Spiny Norman, aldo135 and 2 others 1 4

Split_Pin Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Great to meet everybody, there was indeed a lot going in. It was fucking roasting in Glasgow. Got stuck in a massive traffic jam on the Clydeside expressway but the temperature guage never moved, so that was a success. The 330 drives lovely but it's very firm and the exhaust is loud! Hame. Still roasting but it's a different kind of heat out in the sticks, which I love. Spiny Norman, dome, mk2_craig and 4 others 6 1
Jazoli Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I’ve just got back, 145 miles, roof down all the way in the SLK (couldn’t do that in the bmw as it needs a wind deflector) it’s very comfortable at speed and not terrible around the twisties chasing motorbikes over Shap, it’s definitely not a sports car though 🤣 it’s also got a quite loud exhaust too 🤨 No poo count or any of that nonsense as I’m not a child and I would have fallen over woolarding as I’m on crutches for three months 😛 A good day out, didn’t really have time to hang around, nice to meet you all. HMC Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Great! IIRC @RobT @wuvvum and myself did something similar a few years ago possibly also involving @bramz7 and an xj6, renault 19 and a rover 45 , (?) but my memory is quite hazy. RobT, Spiny Norman, Split_Pin and 1 other 4
eddyramrod Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I did a threeway a while ago but that included a train (or in fact two) so doesn't even approach this. Kudos, chaps. Split_Pin, mk2_craig and Spiny Norman 3

Caught me out a couple of times edging forwards in traffic, other cars must have thought I was a right Maureen lurching forwards then stamping on the brakes to avoid rear ending the one in front. And that's without my heavy work boots on... eddyramrod, Jazoli, Split_Pin and 2 others 2 3
aldo135 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I’m also happy with my purchase! Here is a petrol station shot to keep the traditionalists happy, don’t need a PC as I brought 2 little shits with me… they are not happy, as we are not going home via Scarborough this week 😂. Spiny Norman Posted August 6, 2024 Author Posted August 6, 2024 Couldn't think of anywhere else to put this, but I made an attempt to clean up the Polo's headlamps which were showing the usual clouding and discolouration, so using a basically free magic potion I've had success with before (Lidl's cheapest toothpaste and baking soda) I went to work on them with a little abrasive pad on my drill. Not perfect but a huge improvement, you can now see the bulbs inside which you couldn't before. DVee8 and mk2_craig 2
