That's well worth a read . I liked the line "The four-cylinder 1,118cc OHV engine has been described as rattly but tough."
'Rattly' indeed. 'Distinctive' could also apply as we always new when one of the local ones was coming up the main street.

Had the odd sarnie + thermos on IMP bonnet 😉

This is awesome! Only on Autoshite would a man cross half a continent to rescue a rattly brown Simca! Everywhere else it would be an Aston, Ferrari or a Maserati! Well done that man! Top chodding!

Can we pin this? Autoshite at its best. Required reading for newcomers and the old guard alike. Keeper of the flame etc.

Hear hear.....

*I'll always have a Simca 1100, colour coordinated to mimic LeBoll, as a lasting testament!

That little car is an absolute hero. All that way and it’s not put a foot wrong (touch wood…!) I mean the tyre ‘issue’ isn’t the cars fault and could have happened to any older car with old tyres, but I think that little car deserves a reward on its arrival home!

Maybe a tank full of premium or an oil change😄

Well done Simca!

@Mr_Bo11ox are the collection anxiety pangs starting to subside a little now? My adrenaline levels would've  been through the roof.

I've hardly used this forum in ages before getting invited to Northern Twixfest yesterday and after I decided I should come here more.  This has made me glad I did.

It's hard to not sound patronising, but this is a proper epic adventure and you've cheered us all up reading it.

Stress levels are quite low right now, I'd say 3/10, and that's only cos I have to A frame this thing home from Peterborough, otherwise itd be 0.5/10
