SiC Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Optimised for efficiency because I'm always ending up late. First leg will be my parents driving me up as they conveniently are passing northwards today. New fridge freezer arrived yesterday to replace the fucked 2.5yr old Samsung one. This new one is leaking already. Bumhats. I guess calling product support gives me something to do during the trip. FakeConcern, privatewire, sdkrc and 10 others 13

I changed the title quick as I suspected multi modal transport would confuse that I was buying multiple types of transport! Perhaps I should have planned to buy a model car along the route. eddyramrod 1

This new one is leaking already. Bumhats. I guess calling product support gives me something to do during the trip. When we moved into this house we bought a really expensive fridge freezer. It was brilliant but about 10 years later we started to get pools of water under it. I cleaned out the drip tray, cleared all the tubes but what ever I did the water was there the next day. We decided to get a new fridge freezer and the old one was taken away and the new one delivered. The new one was much cheaper and of inferior quality but at least the pools of waters was fixed. Next day came down, big pool of water under the fridge as normal. Much confusion so I pulled the fridge out and found the water was actually coming from a leaky pipe. Nothing wrong with the old fridge freezer, oh how I laughed* Also good luck with your Z4 SiC, privatewire, dome and 16 others 1 13 5
SiC Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Sounds like something I'd do. This Haier is the same price as the old Samsung but you can tell they've cheapened out a lot more than the Samsung in the build cost. Has hot melt glue holding bits on and the tolerances between parts are huge. It is 8cm or so skinny depth wise so fits in the kitchen better though (why we didn't go for another Samsung). Not a Z4 yet unfortunately. That'll have to wait. It is a brand that I've never owned before though.

The code reader is a precaution/anxiety reliever. A classic I'd bring a set of feeler gauges and a small socket set. Modern just a code reader - if it can't be reset and driven on, it'll be next on the back of a truck. But hopefully I won't be needing it just sods law says I will if I leave it at home. beko1987 and Flat4 2

When we moved into our current place we bought new Samsung appliances to take advantage of the 3/5 year warranties. They ALL failed a month or two after the warranties expired, almost in an engineered way. Bosch or Miele only now. Screw engineered obsolescence.

Bosch don't last either now but saving grace is parts are cheap and easy to get. In-laws have got through more Bosch appliances than we have Samsung. Miele you can't fix yourself easily and they don't give out service manuals apart from those that pay a lot to Miele as a qualified Miele engineer. My mum's Miele broke a few times in 10yrs and only had a 2yr warranty standard, so had to pay for repairs. At well over a grand to buy, it certainly didn't last any longer than our Samsung washing machine. Basically all garbage now and I just got for the stuff with the longest warranty. Samsung should have been 5yrs but I didn't register it so just got a standard 2yrs.
