If it would pass an MOT, I'd drive that Standard just the way it is, running on used chip oil 8) ......what smoke screen ???

How odd, I just woke up after dreaming about a very nice blond lady in a soft top red Mk 3 Escort.

Was she on the cover of the A to B book by any chance?

if that moggie was a bit cheaper i could be tempted. Wonderfully grotty.

Hmm, £700 is a bit steep maybe.

Deserving of the doctor treatment i recon.

Posted

Agreed.

If it was cheaper I would buy it.

And then CRUSH IT.

Bwahahahaha

That Metro is a bit wiered.

Wrong wheels, wrong steering wheel, wrong badges - odd mods for a 40,000 mile car.

Agreed, look out for it on the Doctors listings soon.

I can't help but think this oddball 4wd 626 deserves saving. Mr_Bo11ox, aren't you fond of these?

It's only down in Ipswich, sounds as if the owner would deliver it and I could happily stash it at mine. Indeed, if it stays at sensible money I might pop a bid in myself - the dead Laurel really ought to go soon, and this would be interesting to look at festering away in its place.

Have to say 626s are fantastic, Ye' Old Man owned an estate afew years ago and it never let him down.

(He got it for doing a cylinder head gasket on a Mk2 Astra)

Never mind whiplash, I'd be more concerned about the splinters I might get off this in a crash...

That 626 is a right hunny, I remember driving one of those years ago, The 2.2i is quite a hoot and they grip well, I could think of a lot worse cars to buy instead of that, It would also make a decent tow car as well.

Not so keen on the blue/green dashboard in it though.

Now that I like. A lot. My old man used to have one of these, but his didnt come with those wheels :?

Strange thing is, I very disappointed the day he got it, he always used to buy old chod. I always wanted to him to have something better. And now he has, I want him to buy old chod again! :?

I had a H reg one of these in 2000 it wasnt a 4wd one though, I was in desparate need of a car and spotted one in the junk section on a used car lot for about £500 (not bad for a ten year old car) it was in good condition but the auto choke would stick on, my mates dad bunged a peice of thick steel wire there to stop it coming on. The handling was awful but I rather liked it although I only kept it for 6 months and sold it for about £700.

I really like the next model they made (the 1992-1997 one) like this:

I like them so much that I really want one for my next car and intend to have one in 10 years time for shows (i'll be the only one!)

(sorry about the big picture, I really do like them that much!)

This is worthy of a mention as its an early 1975 Escort not many 1975 ones left and certainly not on an N reg. Very early MKII's had lots of differences to the later ones, I hope someone buys this and restores it back to standard, its worth having some cash thrown at it.

Starting off at 99p with no reserve

Hey - Minimad! Don't bother putting the body back on the Rebel - it looks like they increase in value when you take it off! :D
