Spottedlaurel Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Both my Accords have been manual 1.8, cracking things to drive. My red 3dr was the same spec as that one, I picked it up off eBay for £265 with more T&T than that one, about three years ago. Be interesting to see what this goes for.

trigger Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 I remember my dads old Mk2 Transit had vinyl seats, I also remember the pain I would be in whilst sitting on it with shorts on on a hot day, great times!

Rod/b Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 My friend Jim, out in the States, won a Wartburg 311 about a year ago in an essay competition. He has since stripped it down, grafted in the back half of a Beetle chassis, fitted Porsche suspension fore and aft, a VW bus transaxle and a Subaru boxer engine. He then took it on the BABE (Big Apple to Big Easy) banger rally in June, drove it back to New Jersey, stripped it and entered a LeMons endurance race two weeks later where he won the "Index of Effluency" award. It's now off to compete in a GRM challenge event. Jim is my hero. http://wartburg.misfittoysracing.com/

Rusty Pelican Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 What on earth would would a 5.7 V8 diesel sound like?A truck
Pete-M Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 What on earth would would a 5.7 V8 diesel sound like? Surprisingly, all these 350 Olds diesels only have 220lb-ft of torque220 Lb/ft and about 4 bhp, and they sound like a knocking Daewoo Matiz, with a misfire, through a megaphone. Just with less power....
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vintage-commer-walk-through-van-1963-/280521600672 Nice, but for nearly three and a half grand I would want an MOT.
