Hello jeanso1

Hi, I like the look of the Lada, do you have a price in mind to end the auction early? I can pay cash for a quick sale. I am interested in unusual older cars and I would restore it to its former glory! - Joe

Dear joe_carr,

We were looking for £150.00 thanks for your enquiry........Jean

Opinions?

Worth a save? Or am I a bad, bad man ...the same evening as letting scooters down on the 850. I could maybe keep this one quiet for a few weeks without spending too much.

It's a miserable piece of shite. JUST GET IT BOUGHT.

An uncle of mine in Athens (which is very hard on cars due to perennial traffic jams and extreme heat in the summer) runs one of these and is always singing its praises, so I say GO FOR IT!

Welding @ £300 of £70 an hour labour charges!! £150 seems a great price if you have somewhere to put it and know someone that can weld.

That Rover is HOT, and yes Joe you should buy the Samara, they're getting really rare now. Can you weld? If not it may turn into an expensive liability, maybe it would be worth a look to see exactly how much it needs.

Those Rovers are DIRE!

So if you want it, get it.

IIRC that Acclaim was on a few weeks ago with the same kind of listing.

It is a crying shame where seemingly good cars are being broken up just to earn the seller a little bit extra! There was a nice looking ADO16 not so long back that was being broken up as spares, yet in the pictures looked very nice both mechanically and bodily.

I wonder what he wants the mechanicals for, some kind of kit car I suppose (maybe someone has found away of shoe-horning the engine and box into a Mini (I suppose 1275cc Metros are getting thin on the ground now)?!!

Pete.

This happens with old guitars too. You get a single ebay seller selling the neck, the body, all the hardware, the pickups and so on on about eight different listings. I agree, it's a shame to see old interesting stuff broken in favour of making a quick buck.

It's not that idiot who was breaking a Citroen GS in order to use the engine in some kind of home built death trap aeroplane, is it?
