I took my 1988 Astravan to 347000 miles.Only had a 5 digit mileometer though so it read 47k.It was only ten years old.

Wow, I can't beat those mega mileages, but my 2005 VW Transporter is the highest mileage vehicle I've owned - ticked over 343,000 miles last month.

It's hopelessly needy obviously, but the engine and gearbox are original and still perfectly good.  It's on its 3rd clutch and DMF, 2nd turbo and fuel pump though.

Any job other than regular serving requires you to literally take its whole face off-

Discounting digital milometers which have shat themselves, the highest reading I've ever had in a car I owned was an F-reg Volvo 740 estate, purchased with just over 318,000 miles on the clock.

Highest mileage vehicle I've owned was the Leyland Roadrunner, which had done somewhere around 600K km.

Only 153,000 miles on the clattery 'stop gap' Escort diesel I eventually traded in nearly ten and a half years ago. It lived for another 2.5 years and went up to 167,000 miles.

2005 C max Tdci 267k

2006 astra 1.4 petrol 269k

all 3 were on original engines, astra was ex gambling machine service 'van' heavy duty rear shocks fitted so empty the rear was about a foot higher than standard

We've had this 05 Prius in the family for a long time:

The clock stops on all pre-06 Prius' at 299k, and the actual figure on this example is about 320k. Still going strong as ever, and it has genuinely never put a foot wrong.

Nothing in comparison to you guys but my current F11 520D is on 184k (2012 ‘62) and about this time last year I had the timing chain done along with clutch/DMF. It’s a great car and I only paid £4800 for it when it was 7 years old (would have been a 35k car new)

My old E90 325D I sold on around 200k IIRC. Another great car. 
 

IMO, people miss out on so many really good cars because they’re afraid of mileage. It’s never something that has remotely bothered me.. you can tell by the car whether it’s been cared for or not, I’ve viewed some awful 50-70k cars in the past.

Pathetic really, but my personal record is 132k on a 1987 Cavalier, that was then scrapped due to terminal tinworm. 

Current vehicle, the Octavia, has 112k and is the next highest.

Only two others that I owned topped 100k, A Focus that I bought at 37k and owned 7 years. And Fiat Marea Weekend that I had a year before tinworm killed that too. I loved that old shitbox.

Quite poor by these standards, but I'm hoping the Skoda will last a few years and be worthy of these pages.

Had a Saab 9-5 diseasel that clattered its way to nearly 260k miles before I got bored of fixing it. Which latterly it needed. A lot.

Also pretty small here compared to a lot of the above, but 234,000 out of a Fiat Uno wasn't too bad, got it in about 1992  at 77k miles and had it until 2001 when it needed too much for the MoT to be worth fixing, engine was still great. Old thread on it here

Replaced by a Punto, 2001 - 2008, around 30k to 152k, perfectly good car with plenty of life left in it, sold to work colleague for her daughter but she rarely drove it as it didn't have power steering (nor did it need it!) and ended up binned after they got fed up with it being on their drive

2008 - 2016, Nissan Almera 48k ish to 171k

2016 - date, Nissan Note, 88k ish to 154k but only done about 100 miles since filling it up two months ago due to home working and lockdown of course

Just four cars in almost 30 years, I probably fit in as badly on here as I do elsewhere in life....

I bought my old ford escort van with 250k on clock. Some sadistic person did a lot of miles in that before me. It had just rolled over to 260k when the accident occurred. It was damn noisy and rattly too.

Mine is the current daily, the 9000 has 206,000 on it and rising.

 The 2CV reads 12,000... which could in all honestly be 112 or 212... we have no idea!

I can’t compete with some of these numbers. Highest miler I owned was my S124 Merc which departed with getting on for 230k miles, though I only added a few of them myself. 
The most I’ve put on a single car was my Pug 309 which I ran for nearly three and a half years from new. It went with c95k on the clock.

I once rented a merc sprinter van with 600k miles on it - it was the only van the hire place had available but to be fair it drove spot on

Mighty interesting thread with impressive mileages. Feel a total amateur at 144k in a W202 Benz, although it was the shite steel that sounded the closing time bell. My Mum managed 200k in her W126 S-class which is still tame, although not that bad considering the cost of running a luxo-barge.
