Religion ? Can't we have a thread on banger racers instead ?

Posted

I am having the rage with the axle today.  Every little job seems intent on being a bigger job due to things not being where I've put them - a common problem in this house - and the weather is dead set on making sure I can't use anything electrical outdoors.  Even I draw the line at using a grinder in the kitchen, which is my only indoor working space.  I even lugged the axle up the garden steps and into the kitchen and I can't remember why I thought that was a good idea because I knew I wasn't going to be using the grinder indoors.  I'm having a mongtastic afternoon, how about you?

Religion is one thing. Faith is an entirely different thing, and does not involve fanaticism, zealotry or rules.

Are those religious, or atheist banger racers?

Grump of the Day: a forum where saying anything negative, or taking the piss out of anything whatsoever (however ridiculous) is strictly verboten.

I run a couple of forums so I appreciate that things can get hairy when people are really nasty to each other. But banning all negativity is just primary school stuff. It insults the poster, by not allowing them to express a full range of opinions, and it insults whoever the negative comments were aimed at, by assuming they're neither capable of accepting criticism nor responding to it.

What a curse word absolute load of curse word toss.

Sounds a bit blue...

Well we've had religion and banger racers, this is always the next one!

Pineapples are delicious and very good for you. If you dare to say that you prefer bananas, this thread will be locked instantly.

I'm currently trying out an e-cigarette. I'm under a bit of stress at the moment with work (getting in at 7.30, leaving at 6.30) and whatnot, and I don't think it's a good idea to give up. I've smoked pretty much for 13 years, and think it's about time to stop. The e-ciggie is good, but it has nothing on the rollies I smoke. I'm committed to giving up, but I think I should just leave it a few weeks until I can have some time off and get away from work for a bit - work isn't even that busy, that'll be here in about February next year.

Should I feel bad about going back on the rollies again?

On the subject of smoking, fucking EU are banning menthols. Tomorrow I'm spending £30 on UKIP membership.

Ah yes. Because being a bit upset about the loss of minty cigarettes is a really good reason to join that bunch of racist idiots.

I smoke menthol e-cigarettes and quite like them. Maybe you might consider taking the opportunity to switch to vaping?

Posted

FUCK e-cigarettes. I'm having really bad withdrawal symptoms, not had it like this before.

After considering I might actually be dying and it wasn't withdrawal , I got in the car and bought some ciggies and smoked one. I think I feel better now and will quit slowly. My head is all over the place and was getting very anxious and having panic attacks which I have not had for absolutely ages/years.

Honestly, I've given up in the past and 'cold turkey' wasn't THIS bad, it feels like I've just given up smack or something?!

Are you using the little things that look like a ciggy? You might as well be removing locking wheelnuts by hammering on a box spanner, get this shizz at the very least.

Don't even bother trying to give up, if you've done it before it becomes impossible, just play with the battery fag and after a few weeks it just takes over, and no brutal murders on your conscience.

I'm using the electronic thing!

Last time I gave up was for nearly two years. I only started again when I was made redundant. I've not decided to give up since, but now I'm going to give up, but weighing up feeling like a zombie and feeling great but reducing my life by 5 seconds, I'll go with the latter. That time I gave up without any aids.

I've had enough of the cigs anyway and I must give up now. Will try that new fangled vapour thing, as the E-cig feels like I'm inhaling on one of those smoke machines you get in nightclubs, and tastes like it as well. I have used the gum before and found one that tasted like a well smoked dog end. It put me off smoking for about 6 months. Before I started again! I will give up this time though. :)

I've had two rollies since, and I. FEEL. GREAT.!

sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Starting smoking is the best thing I've ever done, I'd reccomend it to anybody.

If they're banning menthols it looks like i'll quit. I smoked L&B for 10 years but they were getting a bit harsh so went onto B&H silver couple of years then the same thing. I've been on JPS mintys for a year now and they're great, i can happily chuff 20 a day.

Last/only time i quit was for 9 months 3 years ago, using a plastic tampon looking thing from my GP. Only used it a couple of weeks because it was a bit shit looking so just used normal chewing gum and occassional rage outbursts in the end.

Fortunately I live in my workplace so nerdy libdem smoking laws don't apply to me. 1500-2000 miles a week incarcerated in a cab without tabs would bring Evil Warren out to play on an hourly basis.

Did I read the Tories plan to ban e-ciggies in pubs because 'they make people feel uncomfortable'?

There are worse ways to incur debt than that lovely, lovely, Prisma.  It wouldn't be debt, it'd be an investment in your own happiness.

Posted

Mr Imp, you should have jumped on that Prisma last month when it went for £460 ... I may have been the second highest bidder on that auction

If you want to incur debt then can I tempt you with my HPE? It's too nice and shiny for me and I only deserve the scruffy spyder.

One and a half grand. Bloody hell I've never spent that  much on a car!

Posted

I've never spent that much on anything.  Mainly because I've never had that much money to spend.

My Prisma cost me £80 out of the local auction.  Admittedly that was 9 years ago and it was somewhat scruffier than that one.

I would. But not on a Lancia Prisma.

See, everybody is different.

However, Mr. Hillmanimp, all you have to do now is stay patient. The car will not sell for the current asking price anyway.

If a car is worthy of you, any car, it will come to you sooner or later.

You will never find the right car, the right car will find you. If it doesn't find you, it's not the right car.
