My cat is nearly 20 and has only been on wet food for the last 9 months or so as her teeth are too bad to cope with dried food any more.

The good stuff (Pro Plan, Hills, similar) is usually on a 2 for 3 or something somewhere and works out good value because you don't have to feed 'em as much (it's high protein). Watch the salt content on some of the premium foods though and make sure plenty of water is available as others have said.

Easy-opening can lids are excellent for "shaving" cat puke of off carpets...to the point that with the regularity that our 20-year-old cat chunders there's one under a fridge magnet on the fridge, and I never go downstairs in the morning without my specs on...!

She doesn't have much in the way of teeth, but it doesn't stop her snaffling bits of the dog's dry food - 20mm across - when we're trying to feed him!

We had temporary custody of a cat with only 4 teeth (his incisors) and he loved biscuits. Although he only ate very slowly.

10kg bag every six weeks from Countrywide - of whatever is cheapest - Omega, Go Kat, Whiskas - our cats love it - and their shit doesn't smell like if they eat tinned shite!

Ours all lived to their early 20s eating mostly dry food with a ready supply of water. (Dripping tap in the kitchen! )

They also got the odd bit of fresh meat, chicken, fish etc, but mostly their diet was Go-Cat, which they could easily help themselves to by jumping up on the worktop and opening the cupboard and pulling down the box as per Cav's moggy.

My cat's nuts for dry food. If I want her to eat wet food I have to hide the Go-Cat until she's eaten some. She won't touch fresh fish, chicken or anything else. Vet says she's completely healthy.

I kind of know how you feel. I've got this Samsung Tab thing that does pretty much the same thing, but I can choose the word I'm trying to type, it takes a bit of getting used to though but I like the fact that I can use this anywhere and not have to sit at my desk any more.

Though trying to select a link can be challenging, sometimes a web page wont load properly or at all after selecting, also the cut 'n' paste function is next to useless.

That's good to hear, and dry food has the advantage of being easier to store and less messy. It's one of the great mysteries of life: cats and dogs have an excellent sense of smell,so why does their food have to reek so much?

To turn auto correct off on a ShitePad:

1. Navigate to Settings -> General -> Keyboard

2. Touch Auto-Correction -> OFF

two of our cats prefer dry biscuits over meat. as others have said, so long as they are drinking, there's no problem. if cats in general fancy a bit of meat they normally just go and kill something anyway.

The best way I have found to deal with cat puke is to also own a dog. they are like four legged vacuum cleaners.

Had to get up at 4.30am to drive to Sheffield to watch videos of people getting killed and seriously injured. Fucking work.

Latest video features the destruction of a 2cv, lada, renner 14 and a mk1 granada. So sad.

And yet those definition-stretchingly ignorant septic fucknuggets wonder why the entire world thinks they're a set of ill-bred cunts... :?

I've been battling with getting the bottom door pin out the Puma. Having knocked the shit out of it for 2 weeks I decided the only thing to do was attack it with violence.

puma door by cort16, on Flickr

That shifted it. I was hoping with the weight of the door off the pin would come out more easily. Not so! Luckily at this moment the guy in the garage next door turned up and pulled a new pin out a drawer allowing me to cut the head of the bastard and knock it through. Eventually it yielded thankfully. I recon some heat or and air chisel would have moved it but I didn't have either.

With the old door off I went and got the "new" door which I'd bought off a guy breaking one on ebay in the right colour with the gaurentee of no dents. Guess what? Yip it's covered in dents and I'm not buying the damaged in transit bit either. Flaps. A PM is going to be flying in Lankytims direction very soon as hopefully he's still got the doors of his puma.

Most of us just make do with Liveleak for that sort of thing.

erm, I've got a thought.... I'm not 100% sure because I've never taken a door off a Puma, but on pretty much every other ford the door hinge bolts to the car through the A post. There are nuts inside the pillar, and what looks like weld holding the hinge to the car is in fact sealant. This is why the bottom pin looks impossible to get at - you are meant to unbolt the door complete with hinge and turn it over to drive that one out.

The Cortina is sitting, taxed, MOT'd and insured in a damp lock up, the interior is going mouldy, the radiator still hasn't arrived, and today I changed one of the brake cylinders because it was leaking and of course the pipes were seized in the unions so I've now got to buy a roll of brake pipe and make 2 new pipes.

Sold a Sony Midi/separates hifi system, included in this package was a trusty CDP-M12, it all worked a week or so ago, had a few people interested, so went to test it today.

Firstly, the Cd drawer wouldn't close, but this fixed itself when I brought the unit in the house, once this drama was overcome, it wouldn't read a Cd, preferring instead to making clicking noises.

No problems I thought, armed with a screwdriver I went in to see if I could free the mechanism up, to do this I had to disconnect a couple of ribbon cables, very carefully. I got to the motor and it re-engaged with a reassuring "clunk". Great I thought, bob it back together and give it a go then!

No, deader than Ken Dodd's Dad's Dog.

I am going to take it outside and stamp on the fucking thing.

2.2 HLS late model shed. Every part that's rotten on this one is solid on mine and every part that's damaged on mine is good on this one, including the relevant wing. £150 starting bid plus the ability to deliver it to me is very reasonable.

I went to view this car last year shortly after my Princess had the accident and it's absolutely perfect for what I need. Everything was going swimmingly until the Insurance company pulled the rug out from under me by U-turning on the cash-in-lieu settlement and then life took a great big dump on me so now I'm massively frustrated that I haven't the means to acquire this vehicle, or even to borrow the cash from somewhere to facilitate purchase.

Owing to a huge administrative cock-up, both my cars need taxed, insured, serviced & MOTs this month, along with the house insurance.....

Fridge/freezer, has run perfectly for 10 years. Like everything else I own has been sold and is due to go today. So last night it was switched off to defrost. today it won't go. WHY NOW????

Mum thestags 2year long battle with lung cancer ended this morning at 2 am.

She died peacefully in her sleep thanks to the expertese of the staff at the north devon hospice. Dad, my brother, sister and i were with her at the end.

Brave woman

Gutted, pissed off and emotionally drained.

Reading banal banter on autoshite has kept me insane over the weekend
