Repo man was terrible!

Anyone remember 'The cars that ate Paris'?!

Yo Hillman, could it be this film?

http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0076789/

I too saw this ‘back in the day’ and have never seen it again despite looking out for it.

By jove, I think he's got it. That looks spot on. :D:D

The whole film is on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xbflKZ9BFw) which I can watch on my Tivo or Playstation on the telly downstairs. Will report back tomorrow (although the missus might disagree but I will give it a go).

Where the fuck I have got a Porsche 911 from I don't know as I have just skipped through and cant see one but its looking like a fair bet that this is the right film.

there is a porsche, a major part of the film, but not a 911

Yeah, is everyone who worked at the BBC in the 70s/80s a pervert?

You would think so the way the press are covering it all. Not just people who were at the BBC, I understand that the whole of the 1970's have now been arrested and put on the sex offenders register.

The way it is going, I am seriously worried that I am going to get lifted as I once looked down a womans top when I worked on the checkout at Sainsbury's in 1991.

You’re a sick monster of the vilest order.

Police arrest the 1970’s in dawn raid

Scotland Yard have confirmed that the 1970’s have been arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses dating back as far as 1970 in a dawn raid this morning.

The detectives in charge of the Jimmy Savile investigation have arrested every male media personality from the decade and built a time machine to take them back to the 1970’s, where they will hold the era in suspended animation to prevent any further sexual offenses taking place.

Chief Inspector Nick Crimms spoke to The Daily What A Fucking Surprise yesterday: “We know that 1970’s committed sexual offenses and said many sexist comments about females who may have been under 18. This makes us certain that any male living in the decade was and continues to be a pedophile, which is why we have arrested the entire 1970’s. Police scientists are currently investigating ways to erase the entire decade from time.†when asked if he was a pedophile, Nick Crimms remarked: “We have compelling evidence to suggest that I may have looked in my rear view mirror at a group of school girls in 1979 and thought ‘Phoworrrrr, if I was a few years younger.’. If found guilty I will face justice and commit suicide because I won’t be able to live with myself.â€Â

In wake of the arrests John Thaw’s desiccated corpse has been exhumed and is currently being interviewed by specially trained Police Officers. “We want to send a clear message out to these offenders that being dead will not allow them to escape responsibility for their crimes. John Thaw was in the public conscience in 1970’s so is certain to be a you-know-what.†said Crimms.

Meanwhile, campaigners are calling for Dennis Waterman to hung from the trees in Hyde Park without trail for saying “Hello love.†to a 15 year old girl in 1976.

More disturbingly evidence has surfaced detectives have said, that Sean Connery may have said something sexist and looked at a teenage girl’s bottom sometime between 1964 and 1971, meaning that the entire 1960’s will be investigated as well. The 1960’s spokesman was unavailable for comment, as he his is currently being held in custody on suspicion of looking down a girl’s top.

Today was the third morning in the last week that I've woken up with terrible back pain. I do have a slightly dodgy back and occasionally used to get a twinge in the morning if I'd slept on it awkwardly, but nothing like this often. It's fine once I get up and move about, but it's irritating as it's making me lose sleep - and God knows I get little enough of that as it is. If it carries on I might have to go and see a doctor, which I haven't needed to do since July 1998.

Mattress problem? Have a similar issue where I wake up with back pain, but time spent in a Holiday Inn recently resulted in no pain for weeks. Until last night! :(

Suspect home mattress is to blame. In my case.

Good call, Bob. That was precisely the issue I had some years ago. I went a bit full-on, and bought an orthopaedic mattress, and it worked.

Spent five years travelling from Blackpool to Derby and back between 2003 and 2008. Many times this happened. Junction 15 on M6 is terrible. Both ways. Rubbish slip roads with short run ups etc. Was often mayhem.

Junctions both sides similar. Bad stretch of M6.

Posted

This was near 16 which is a big clear junction, 15 is pretty awful as it's also on a bend. I wouldn't have fancied being in that silver car which looks to have been sandwiched between the two trucks.

It's a shit stretch of road there for some reason, just like the bit between J5 to J7 on the M53.

That's because it was never built as a motorway, only a dual. Its Motorway classification was originally the M531, not M53.

It's better further down from about J8 [Rossmore] towards the Promised Land [Chester] and it's still only two lanes.

I've put the tr7 up for sale for 250 quid in a few places and have had sod all interest. Bad time of year I suppose.

I had kind of persuaded myself that jag would be a good idea once the tr7 was sold.

I think it could be time for eBay and just see what happens.

Why do so many accidents on the M6 occur on that stretch?

Oddly Voksy is also very wary if that stretch of road too as it was always having big accidents when he lived over that way. When we have been heading over that way on a couple of occasions he has told me to watch out as he has never known a stretch or road like it.

It looks like a normal road when you drive down it.

I work about a mile from J16 and it took me 1.5 hours to get home, a journey that usually takes 20 mins tops. Obviously that's nothing compared to the suffering for those involved- it looked horrible.

J18 down to J15 seems to be an accident blackspot, most of it consists of long straight flat stretches that maybe encourages people to speed or bunch up. There are chevrons painted on the road in parts to remind motorists to keep far enough away from the vehicle in front, it seems to be an ongoing problem. Seeing as this smash happened so close to the exit slip at J16 it could possibly point to someone cutting across the lanes to get off the motorway, or randomly slowing down to 20mph while they look at a map or something. No doubt there's going to be a lengthy investigation to find out what went on.

I reckon thats a large part of the problem on that bit - the long, straight, flat bit.

A lot of people drive with their brains switched off and once they get on a stretch of road that doesn't need much concentration they are focused solely on the car in front (and they are possibly too close to the back of it) rather than looking a few cars ahead. Somebody brakes, somebody else doesn't notice and voila - one accident.

In a 'consultancy network' meeting held at the university where i did my postgraduate studies. The course leader for 'organisational development' has just said that she sees no point in publishing research papers. Really trying to fight the urge to punch her in the face.

Virgin Media are a complete bag of wank.

There, I have said it - I have even Tweeted Richard Beardy Branson and told him this too.

Why do I think this?

Well its quite simple - about two months ago the land line phone line started playing up, bloke came & fiddled with it and it burst back into life - he blamed the extension wiring so as this was a bit ropey and only now serves the upstairs bedroom I disconnected it and placed the second DECT phone up there - then a week later it died completely - eventally another bloke came out and diagnosed f*cked cable somewhere between the box on the house and the big green box in the street - olny it'll take 3 weeks to get the lads out to fix it.

Nearly 3 weeks pass (which I hasten to add I am still paying for a phone line that does not work) and today the lads arrived. And possibly did the shittiest cable install of all time EvAH.

Its woven in and out of my privet hedge, and will pose a risk next year when I come to trim it with the electric shears, then they have dug up my lawn and chucked it a couple of inches under the lawn until it gets to my drain trap, then it surfaces and is led un protected over the top of this, round the back of a shed, behind a bush ( well sort of on top of the bush) and then finally up to the box on the wall which they seemed to lack a suitable tool to open and so butchered it (after first twatting off the cable conduit that led up to the box and leaving the cable without).

I have emailed Virgin, and Richard Beardy Branson but realy dont expect much by way of a reply.

I shouldn't  Micrashed, but that sort of looks like the kind of wiring you'd expect to see on a council house at Christmas.

eBay arses.

1st bloke - who referred to himself as Dr Sir... "Will you take £1000 now?". Pointed out to him that the BIN is 25% more than that, and that it states in the ad that I won't haggle unless you're standing in front of myself with a big wedge of folding money.

2nd bloke - "Will you take a plasma cutter for it?"... WTF?

Luckily, there have been quite a few people sending messages... but nobody has bid. Cunts.

I think we can apply the classic formula: Matt black(x10 litres) + 6 months x IQ = weighbridge.

Shame, those things have all but disappeared.

Some points are due for at least chosing something different though, I wish him luck with it, especially given that if he leaves it out in the rain overnight it will have dissolved by the morning. These things really can rust, I remember my parent's 1986 216SE having gaping holes in the door pillars and boot frame amoung much else by times it was 9 years old and they're a rare sight now, nice to see one being...um...preserved.

A Vitesse bodykit might work on it but finding one would be a challenge in itself, can't be many off the shelf mods available for these.

Physiotherapy session, £30 well spent

You will stand there with your top off and get stared out and they will say its due to fallen arches/short hamstrings/trapped nerve in neck/anything thats not your back etc, a bit of a rub with oil and two days later you feel fine
