Had it not fallen off the back of a lorry?

That was the headline on the BBC site, but the story then said that a wheel went wrong as it was being driven. Nice work BBC.

Actually - you could get pinto powered Sierra's in '92 - whitevanman had a K reg one till recently. The last sierras were real parts bin specials and they used up whatever engines etc they had left - so a fair few azuras went out the door with 1.6 pintos installed.

i worked at a ford dealership back in the long distant past.

one day we brought a 2.0 twink badged sierra back from a compound (gates chelmsford i think)

after pdi it was brought to the forecourt and a group q+a session was instigated.

the q was 'whats missing'

the a was 'a camshaft'

it was probably easier to explain to one customer why he wasn't getting his wrong engined sierra, than the day a whole transporter of mk5 escorts turned up with wankily pressed side panels.

on the subject of PS, if you cant say anything positive... sorry wrong forum

on the subject of PS,imho the pursuit of shite should transcend the bounds of your present capability, or you aren't doing it right 8)

EBAY!!!

sold faulty iphone on there and 2weeks later the pleb decides it was not as described... so opens dispute he gets a refund and i get iphone back with half the fuckin gubbins missing and minus the iphone box it was sent in... little detective work finds out he buys and sells iphones so you you can guess why i never got box back.

complained to ebay about not getting full item returned and they say it will be put to their management...

in the meantime i refused to pay them the refund that they sent the guy.

still not heard from ebay big wigs but they have frozen my account..... well only 1 thing to say to that

FUCK YOU EBAY!!!

I'd phone them up and ask what's going on and explain the situation, I did google for there number but there's about 3 or 4 different numbers come up claiming to be them.

After giving person money for car, and saying I would collect on Tuesday (last week), the car still hasn't been picked up, because I'm still waiting for the next excuse after I bought an a-frame off ebay. The bloke is down the road, ffs I needed this Saturday which is when I won the auction, not Monday night, and I'm looking like an unreliable twatter to this person I've said 'I'll collect tonight' for the sixth time. Moral of this story - Don't rely on anyone.

get your money back by opening another account, buying a phone and then complain that the box was empty

I've got one of those towing pole affairs you can borrow if you want Dave? You'll need an extra driver (of course) but it might help? Where's the other car you're collecting?

I've actually got towing 'capabilities', but the car isn't taxed or MOT'd (but it is insured now), and I don't want to feel the wrath of some moron police man sitting in a layby (my car was seized due to a DVLA error last year and I don't want to go through that again). The car is about two miles down the road from me, it's probably about 2 minutes from this knobhead with the a-frame. That's what riles me, I walked down to see the car, and I have no way of getting it back 'legally'.

Question for people who own or have owned a Volvo 700-series - how long should it take to break a 740GLE? I've managed it in three days which I reckon must be some sort of bloody record...

You and whose army? It should take at least 25 years, and that would need to include some pretty constant abuse of a violent nature.

Just me, oddly enough! Belts all fine, HT leads seem fine, it does need a service but that wouldn't bring it to a halt, and it's still got the relevant fluids in the correct places, and none on the ground. Just cut out at about 30mph and made a noise like the world was about to come to an end, but it started fine after a few minutes, then just as quickly switched back off as if you'd turned the ignition key off.

Off out with rescue Opel Manta support van to see what the score is with a tame mechanic...

HT leads may seem fine, but if it's an injection car and the ecu gets the speed signal from the dizzy, then I'd go for them.

Isn't the fuel pump relay a weakness on the 740s? Fixed the CX by wiggling the fuel relay...

The wiring to the dizzy can perish and crack causing mental running problems too.

I really should've taken you up on your kind offer as I picked up the -folding- A-frame (for 100 quid), and his dad was in, only to discover it WASN'T folding. Also, the battery I'd just charged was as flat as my enthusiasm for towing this car home now, so I thought bugger it, it's 9.30pm at night, I'll pick it up tommorow. Unfortunately, I had somehow dropped the key to my towing car, and spent 1/2 an hour searching the ground with an LED torch. The bloke ordered a pizza at 8.30 and he was searching for my key with me, so wasn't amused.

Two miles? Fuxake, I'd have pulled that thing with the Heep if you'd asked.

Literally, two miles! I've towed from London, not as much trouble as this had been. If it fails tomorrow I'm booking it in for an MOT straight away and then driving it home.

I've lost two 13mm spanners while cycling along a very muddy canal towpath.

They're the only useful metric size :evil::evil:

Yes, because they will generally work on a 1/2 a/f when you can't find or have lost all your imperial ones!

Battery is completely dead again this morning  so either that's knackered or something, most likely the alarm, is draining it. For fucks sake, I need to get into town so will have to use the Loser Cruiser.

I've got a (hopefully) charged round post battery, a towing pole and trade insurance. Working different shifts this week and (so far) free tomorrow afternoon from about 3.00pm and Friday afternoon from about 2.00pm.

As long as I'm back near work for 5.30pm on Friday to pick junior up I'm fine.
