Is it me?

Last night my desktop took a download of an update for Windows 10. Didn't have a choice in this, it just did it.

Anyway went to it this morning and it will not open Microsoft edge.

Thanks a f**** lot Microsoft.

Turned it of and let it sulk until I can spare more time.

Yep, our main office pc at work spent two hours installing updates yesterday morning then our printer wouldn't work. Not recognized at all  - plugging and unplugging the usb cable didn't even make the pc go bing bong. three more hours and I got it working as printer (copy1).

Work AGAIN! Just spent nigh-on 5 hours driving a van from Bury to Bournemouth. Now work want me to be picked up and taken by another colleague to no other than Stockton on Tees. Yes that is 6 hours up the road. Despite me not driving to Stockton I've refused the job, it's too far, too much money for me to spending over night, I knew about this about an hour away from my drop off. This is getting ridiculous.

Washing the auld mans car earlier, noticed one of the wheel nuts was missing, so sent him down the local Ford stealer for a new one, £5.17 for 1 fucking wheel nut!

You need to find one of those breaking ads on eBay with a 99p BIN and a "you are bidding on a wheelnut" disclaimer in the text.  Take them at their word.

Then post their rude message that you will get when they think your another time waster, before politely saying you do want the wheel nut!

Its the sort of thing I'd do if I was a rich man!

Mrs_Pillock got pissed one night and bid on a Unimog that was "breaking, wheelnut only".

She never even got the wheelnut. Wankers.

You don't need to be rich. Only costs 99p.

They may stiff you for £20 postage if you make them mad enough.

Volvo still stuck in the station car park because the recovery people "can't" recover it from there cos it's "too tight"

Take the dizzy cap off and give it a quick blast with some WD40. Do the same to the ignition module on the nearside inner wing. It may just solve your starting issue !

I think it's the coil. Try as I may, I still havn't managed to electrocute myself by holding my finger over where the lead goes while cranking.

I'll try another coil but after that I'll get it dragged on to the street on a tow rope and recovered home from there. I simply cannot be arsed diagnosing ignition issues in an underground car park with sod all space to work.

Posted

I'd suspect if the ignition module is dodgy then the coil wouldn't fire anyway.

Well there is that, aye. I'll take some WD40 to work tomorrow and poke about

I haven't, but may do a course as part of my drivers CPC (paid for out of my own pocket of course, because AGENCY)

TBH I'm considering just sitting on the sofa, becoming morbidly obese, getting diabetes and living the rest of my life on some sort of benefit.

Tim I need to book some DCPC courses for three of us at work, do you want me to get a price? Stamford's a bit of a trek for you though I guess.

I do a bit of subbing for the hauliers next door and they reckon they keep booking agency drivers who never turn up?? All seems a bit weird to me.

I've got two Airshows this weekend; Herne Bay Saturday (if I cam be arsed with the trains) and Biggin Hill on Sunday. Weather isn't looking good for Sunday and now the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has been grounded (all of them, Spitties, Hurricane and the Lancaster) due to engine issues! Damn it!

Yeah it is a bit far unfortunately!

Agency drivers often don't turn up because they get a better paying job. Pretty dirty thing to do and will soon see you banned from most places, saying that I've declined a much better job only to get cancelled at the 11th hour by my first booking.

The Hall effect sensor in the distributor is a regular source of breakdowns on these engines. The wires into the distributor get old and break off.

Tim you are a self employed ltd co aren't you? Can't you tout yourself (your company anyway) to the firms you work for the agency who is messing you about for?

Fuck's sake.

A van has driven through crowds of people in Barcelona. Suspected terror attack, etc. etc. You know the rest.

This sort of thing is becoming all too familiar.

Probably not - they use the agency to put another layer between them and liability / IR35 / HMRC

Source: also a Ltd company scumbag albeit in IT

I had thought that too. I'll try an ignition module and a coil to get it moving. Need to get it home before I can figure out what the problem is

It is, buying a vehicle is relatively easy and much less suspicious than buying a gun.  How often have you asked to see a prospective buyer's driving license?

As Kiltox says, the clients on the most part will only deal with agencies and not individuals.

I have tried a new coil and a new ignition module. Still failing to proceed.

Suspect hall sensor in distributer.

Dragged out by the other half of my fleet with assistance from cms206. Now awaiting recovery.

3 days it's been in the work car park. And people say I'm mental for maintaining a fleet of working cars.

Got a parking ticket yet?

No tickets from Notwork Fail happily. I did go to station reception to say it would be sitting for a few days.

I meant from the photo parked on double yellows.

I'm sat in the car. If a traffic womble even thinks about it he's going in the river a mere 50 yards away
