We all have to sit a test at work (even though I've been there 10 years) to indicate if we're thick or not. I've just been going through some of the questions and there's steam coming out my ears as my brain hasn't worked that hard in 25 years. Shit like algebra learned a school eroded by 25 years of missile strikes loaded with beer and whisky,. I've just sat looking at the questions trying to remember long division.  No calculators obviously.

 

Not only that as i'm the only senior member of staff in I have to supervise everyone else doing it then my one has to be supervised over skype from HQ. I hope they don't mind swearing and sobbing.

What the hell is wrong with the Birmingham area? I've had a delivery and collection in min worth and solihull. Strong smell of shite just off the m42 in minworth,av crash further up the road too. As for driving to Solihull I've had folk cut me up,pull out on me and run red lights. I'm in a bright yellow lwb sprinter with a Luton body on so not exactly incognito either.

The smell is due to Severn Trent water's sewage works being located in Minworth. My Granddad used to work there, you get used to the smell after about half an hour or so! They used to have a railway that crossed Water orton lane as well

That explains it. Something else making me grumpy though. What is wrong on here lately? Since the EU debate thread on the other forum who h bought out the worst in some folk the atmosphere has changed. There is a lot of sniping and back biting going on. We all have common interests so can't we all get on? Wouldnt the sensible option be if you dont want to get on with folk though is to ignore posts or read them and dont bloody reply with bitchy comments?

Just goes to show that the old adage about never discussing religion or politics holds true. I read the Brexit thread but was never tempted to post in it at any point. It's probably the keyboard warrior syndrome a bit as well, everyone got on perfectly well at Shitefest but that was face to face interactions!

My ignore list quadrupled because of the Brexit thread. I probably ended up on a few ignore lists myself. I get on with far fewer people on here than I used to.

When / if my ignore lists block off half the forum, I'll quietly sack it off. I hope it won't come to that.

My mate in Redruth has got some of the wagons and pointwork from there when it closed down ( the railway, not the sewage works).

 

They still faintly smell of shit. He uses them for transporting the horse manure from the paddocks to the pile.

Talking of exams, apparently I need to do a £150 English certifcation exam that lasts almost 3 hours before I can even think about applying for a Canadian visa. This doesn't guarantee fuck-all either, it's just a mandatory thing you need to begin filling in the application form.

 

My plans may not be as easy as I thought... Brexit's not that bad, right? I think I'll just try elsewhere in the UK.
