Got up at 4am to take Mrs Imp to hospital for a sleep ecg or something. Drove to the hospital but there was nobody there, so drove to another but they didn't know anything about it, so we drove to the clinic she got referred from and it was also closed.

I asked to see the letter and she said 'Oh, I lost the letter.'

She rang up this morning and it turns out the appointment was 2pm this afternoon.....

WTF, did you not think to ring up and ask in the absence of the letter? Does 5am seem a normal time for an appointment?

When I got up after catching up on my sleep I started cracking on sorting out the Jag for its MOT. First off was getting the wheels off after mangling the wheel nut key.

post-3133-0-05948900-1452721924_thumb.jpg

As I ended up hammering these on so hard, i will never get these off again so it would've been cheaper to buy another key but I would've had to wait for delivery so ho hum.

Then, with the wheels off i decided to try and get rid of the ABS light and Stability Control Fail notifications on the dash by cleaning up the abs sensors.

Rear two were dirty and cleaned up okay but the front two would not come out. Tried every socket and spanner I had but to no avail.

Hopefully its only the rear ones that were causing the problem. Probably not but I can hope.

Sadly by this time, i had to take Mrs Imp back to the hospital so I will have to try and mend the lights at the weekend as only have 'auto' lights. The stalk doesn't work.

Then I need some new tyres but at least I can get the wheels off now.

people parking up and leaving their lights on, come the fuck on yer blinding me.

That pisses me right off, I wonder what people who do this think when some selfish clown is sitting on the wrong side of the road with their dipped beam burning their eyes out.

Almost a bad as the Rover R8 (not mine) parked facing the wrong way on a 60mph single carriageway with no lights on.

My main grump was they expect me to pay for it. I suppose it could be a way of weeding out the wankers but annoying as the tinpot place I've just left paid for it no problem

I ended up having pay for each one of mine. Sucked and gave me right hump.

There was a way to pay £13 and you could allow access online

Website developers.

note - I know nothing about this sort of thing, but what the fuck are they doing?

"alright, team briefing guys.....we need to take this perfectly good, functional, clear, clean website and fuck it up completely. Make the pages really slow to load, have less information displayed per page, make it less user friendly and really annoying to use."

"ok, no problem"

How do I get a job like that? Getting paid to fuck things up and make them worse - I would be good at that.

FTP on the Focus tonight, typically while the wife was using it 30 miles away, dead as a dodo, jump leads are the the boot but she has no clue how to use them, I find out that Puma's cruise very comfortably well over the ton, jump leads attached and a more sedate journey home, a trip to Halfords £63 lighter and all is well, grrrrrrrrrrr.

Mot tester passed the merc but broke the end piece of my seatbelt butler. Didn't mention this to the garage when they brought it back though.

Same tester broke the door catch surround on my 2cv last year( I had a spare so no biggy) and pinched world meeting wristbands from the light stalk.

They sounds like proper bellends. I'd be looking for another tester asap, me.

Got a refund rather than replacement on my keyboard that didn't last six months.  Disappointing.  so far the £6 Polaroid keyboard of awkwardness from Asda has proven more reliable than the £35 ergonomic lovely comfy keyboard from Microsoft which had three keys fail and letters rub off.

Modern keyboards suck balls. I'm still using a 1990 IBM clicky; nothing comes close in terms of typing action or reliability.

All the parts can be bought seperately at the dealer if it can't be glued, the geezer in the suit behind a desk in the glass palace (which used to be a bloke in a smock behind a grubby counter in better days) tried to tell me the whole lot had to be bought at gawd nose how much, till i pointed out to him that the part numbers were all individual, so new end piece was duly delivered.

Well I don't take the car there, it's where my garage takes them - their local one. Isleworth MOT Station.

You could always have the work done at your garage and take it somewhere else for its MOT.

No way would I ever take my car back to someone who broke parts of it on two occasions and nicked stuff out of it!

That's the part, IIRC it's £16 at the dealer.

Nan died yesterday, not even six weeks after my granddad. Seems like she just gave up.

sorry to hear of you loss, sometimes old folks are like that.. we buried my granddad about 6 weeks after me grandma, they had been married for nearly 60 years and he took her death really badly, and as you say, he just gave up.

even now 20 odd years later i still miss them.

I know, I know.... Pretty sure it's not my imagination on the wrist bands - perhaps they thought them in the way? Not worth anything. I was not annoyed about the 2cv catch, I am about the merc belt butler. However, garage has said they'll have a word with mot er as they thought something was off when he collected it. This is not a show car by any means, but the interior is immaculate and I take care of it. Ho hum. Off to the dealer tomorrow.

I'm sorry for your loss. We thought my (step) grandfather was doing the same after my grandmother died in May, he was in hospital for a fortnight from the day she died, but he's pulled himself through so far.
