Twice recently the hairy cornflake had been attacked by dogs that 'don't always do that'

Fuck that shit, I'm taking him to the gym and then put him in my bike trailer and stop on the cycle path asking passing by dogs if they know who he is. I'M DLT MATE, DO YOU WANT SOME?'

It's the romance novels Billy, see if he can write crime instead. Dave Lee Conan Doyle or summat.

Good and bad today.

Flourescent light in the bathroom went kaput a few days ago. Went out to B&Q got a new tube and a new pull switch, coz the old switch had been buggering about. Fitted both, still nothing. Went to B&Q, bought a complete new light fitting. Pig to fit, but now done. That's the good.

Ball valve in one of the loft tanks has been fubared for ages. Dripping out of the outside overflow pipe. While we were buying new flourescent tube parts, we bought a new ball valve, ptfe tape and washers (if needed). That was going to be my second job today.

My mains operated lead light that I've had for years - gone. I always kept it in the same place - in the meter cupboard -  and it's nowhere to be found. I can only assume when we had a meter changed, the bloke who did the job thought it might come in handy, so slipped it in his bag. That's the only explanation I can think of.

My pipe wrench - gone - vanished into thin effing air.

My adjustable spanner not big enough to fit the nuts on the new ball valve.

So, absolutely no tools to do the ball valve job.

It'll just have to keep dripping for now.

Bollocks, no, bloody double bollocks.

Alarm \ immobiliser is doing my tits in on the MGF. Stupid thing's got one more chance before it gets torn out and left at the side of the road.

mine went through a phase of going off by itself. New batteries in the fob plus re-soldering the fob connections sorted it mostly out.

if it's blowing a gale out there, the motion sensors will still trigger the alarm. Unlocking it on the pipper, then manually locking the door worked for me. This (apparently) sets the immobiliser but not the alarm.

If ypou do rip it out, let me know what you did and how you did it? Just in case mine has a sense of humour failure as well.

Grumps. This is England 90. Utter crap, and a real let down. I was looking forward to this, the other offerings have all been exceptional but this one could have been a 20 minute special if Shane meadows cut out all the slo-mo-to-mood-music shit he decided to screen. Or maybe the idea has run it's course.

Also, England rugby fans. Suck it up ladies, Wales aren't through to the quarters because you lost to Australia. Wales are through because played 3, won 3. That's how sport works

Arsebiscuits.

Went to see my dad today. He's in a hospice so it's never a lot of fun.Anyway, coming off the parkway down to a roundabout and I notice steam coming out of the bonnet....Bugger..Temp guage is reading halfway so I pulled over at the nearest convienience which happened to be the hopsice car-park.Upon inspection there should be a plastic bung on the end of the radiator (it's a Discovery). The threaded part is still there but the cap has broken off.A rummage around the boot revealed a threaded bar and some rubber gloves.I fashioned a bung out of this to go through the hole in the plastic bung, filled it with water then went visiting.

When I got home I made a proper job of it.A small bolt, some ptfe tape for the thread and a fibre washer.Filled up through the thermostat housing and still there was way too much pressure.Think I might have blown a gasket..........

Sorry about your dad,

Re engine, if it is a rover v8 sounds like the cooling system,is pressuring. on 3.5 most likely to be head gasket on 3.9 can be cracked block, slipped line or head gasket. Get a £30 block tester off ebay or borrow one to get confirmation.

Watch out though if you have LPG, cooling system and stupid high pressure gas are separated by a membranne, when that fails it will pressurise your cooling system and pop all the caps and hoses off

Looks like I've been fucking shafted on eBay, first time in 9 years but still pretty pissed off about it.

Seller keeps fobbing me off saying she's ill so can't send, so I didn't really want to push it, I'm a right mug at times.

Now it's past 30 days so eBay don't want to know, looks like I'm gonna get fuck all in return for my money, it's now more like nearly two months.

REALLY annoyed. It's now up to her to refund so if I get nowt back then ebay can shove their account up their jacksie, and they'll find out exactly why. only 30 days is a joke, it can take that long for things to arrive from abroad!

^^Really?? Just keep bugging the seller and ebay, don't just let them both off scot free.

Yeah, when you lodge a complaint it makes you choose an item you've got an issue with and the only option is to email the seller to resolve it... who has now stopped replying.

You got their address though?

Argos Catalogue's

Just saying.

You can charge it back via poo pal for a lot longer. 90 days I think.

6months if you used paypal, mate. I had this with a tyre that was sold as "new/unused" (I suspect it had been a spare) and which had damage to the bead which I missed. The vendor refused to do anything about it, I asked him half a dozen times and shag all response. So I complained to ebay and paypal. Got a full refund the following day off paypal

Thanks gents, lessons learned. Lets just say I've not got much experience in this facet of life.

I think when you go back for seconds (which lets face it, you will) it may be wise to strap a fairly hefty plank to your back....

Cheers, I'll look into PayPal, I had logged in earlier and they pushed me towards filing a complaint through eBay but I'll dig deeper.

Have told the seller politely but firmly that I would like my money back now, see where that goes first.

Posted

Don't say another word to her, just let her find her PayPal account now starts with a minus figure and let that be a lesson to her.

You've even got emails saying she can't send the goods so shouldn't be any issues.

Another bobby killed doing his job.

It's almost becoming the norm. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues.

Buried my head in the sand all day about this but Matt just put the news on, so sad to see his colleagues leaving flowers.

And selfishly; so scary :(

Up at 5 to get first flight to London and I'm having to wear a suit! Thank god I don't have to wear one of these everyday . Don't fly back until 7 so it's going to be a looooong day. On the plus side I didn't spill any of my ba breakfast on my shirt.

Walked 3 miles to work in the rain. Radio on listing and a advert for the council comes one about if you have problems with roads or pavements. Near on ever drain i walked past was blocked flooding the road and pavements. Why don't these morons drive around and have a look, rather that speding ££££ on adverts?

The Bentley is no more.

Valve guides have dropped, they don't know why, don't want anymore to do with it so are refunding me.

Bollox!!!!!

Got to get a receipt for the paintwork and they'll reimburse for that as well. Could be fun, it was a 'cash' job....

I am gutted to be honest. I loved that car, had it three weeks and did 100 miles in it. Oh, and even if I get back all the money, it's still cost me tax and insurance so I'm a loser.

Now, do I look again or give it up as a bad job?

Posted

They should refund for tax/insurance too, or at least cover any cancellation charges.  An element for the three weeks' use you had might be arguable, but you shouldn't be losing out financially; they've admitted the car was not fit for purpose.

Bad luck! Although that sounds very odd to me. ALL the guides dropped? This is the same place that thought they needed 24 seals, is there any chance they dropped another bollock and were trying to fit the wrong seal?

My grump - DoomRover had a failure to proceed moment this morning, and the gearbox is getting much worse very quickly. I think it's dead this time.

Sounds like they're cutting their losses to be honest and reckon it's easier to just give you your money back. Perhaps this is a lesson learnt. These are cars that are perhaps just nicer to borrow!

I sold the spare and unwanted front seat cushions from the Volvo on the VOC forum. Bloke having them seems nice enough and paid me the 20 quid that I wanted.

The gripe is with Parcel farce who were supposed to collect yesterday but didn't, so cue wasted day. Collection rescheduled for today, nearly midday and no sign of the cunts. Sigh.
