The grumpy thread

I'm up at 6. Next door think it's okay to have a party going on at full volume still. No one will complain. Their cars will not be there or be burnt out if they do. I'm glad to be out of there for a few weeks. Shame really because, apart from them, the street is great and full of the most wonderful people...

Burn their cars?

Second thoughts, that does have the potential to go a bit 'JG Ballard' on you...

Not in the same league as children in hospital ( my sister was in intensive care after birth for three months and my dad wasn't even allowed to hold her), but I Ordered a wiper from eurocarparts on Friday for collection. Not exactly difficult you would think, but no, despite it saying it was available from 1hour after ordering it wasn't available at 9.30 yesterday.

eBay says the order is being prepared- they had them in stock and the guy was just going to give me one of them as he had my receipt of payment , but then his boss said he couldn't as they didn't have the eBay release code.

I am now off to France for the week so,can't collect.

Other grump is that for the first time in 25 years I made an apt. At the doctors. She was very nice, and has transferred me to frimley park general surgery for a a hernia op. Anyone had one? No idea when this is likely to take place mind you.

How fucking hard can it be to buy a new car modern car toss so some may not be interested.

Rang a Evan Wankshaw yesterday about a car.Yes it is still here,Ok great will ring in the morning before we set off to view 60 mile round trip.

Well if you leave a £200 deposit it will be here,Yeah right on. I'll chance it.

Rang them this morning.Sorry we don't know were the car is!How can you loose a big black 14 plate 4x4? put on hold for around 10 mins, then can we ring you back.

Right we have found the car.

Great.

It is in the workshop.

Why?

Don't know but the engine is part stripped and it has no oil in so you can't drive it as the workshop go home at 12.00.

It is a year old why the fuck is it stripped?Tell you what i'll just leave it.

Oh I have the strong smell of BS coming from the stealer. For some reason they are putting you off big time.

My inspiration to work on old cars has flat lined but I really need to do something about this so I can sell it. On the plus side I've hopefully sourced some decent doors and stuff for the p6, which I'll be keeping. I think if I spend a few ££ on it, it could be a nice one. I actually need to do something rather than just thinking about it and getting depressed about how much I've got to do.

Up nice and early for a run down to Nelson's Café nr Newbury for the RFOC meet

Had a good chinwag and coffees till gone 1 then decided to head home

Whilst "making progress" back up the A34 a vibration starts from the rear, pull over to investigate and find this poking put at me !

So I gingerly make my way to the nearest tyre place to try get a new 1

No such luck, and everywhere is closed

Called out the RAC who were there within the hour, only to be told I apparently only have roadside help with my policy,or could take me 10 miles to somewhere .....

Or I could pay 299 to have the bike recovered back home.....

After politely declining his offer I rang the Mrs to come down with the trailer

That was at 3ish.

I'm still sat outside National Tyres in Oxford trying not to lower the tone of the place too much....

I don't get it either, this and the grin thread in the open section ... I get that they're not always motoring related, but I'm not sure the grin & grump thread should be in the open forum.

just spent 15 minutes hitting refresh and still didn't get tickets for Dismaland

If you really want to go then turn up one evening this week around 9 and you should be able to get in it is worth it some really interesting shite and the staff really make it dismal. They aren't allowed to smile or be nice, the guy who hands out the flyers will just throw it at you

It has been suggested in the forum improvement thread.

I have a huge cold sore that isn't improving my features one jot. And a hot date on Tuesday. Balls.

Also, pikeys in the area. Went to drop parcels at a mates shop and one is trying to buy a 4 pack with a badly photocopied £50 note. Came back home to find road blocked by another pikey pouring cherry in a knackered tranny.

No, they have au pair lapdogs to do it for them...  ;)

Having attended Whiston hospital every day (sometimes twice) to see my newborn son who is still in the special care baby unit, I strated parking on an estate 5-10 minutes walk away as we were spending a fortune on parking.

Come back to the car today - a resident had left a note saying that I could be fined as it is residents only - one sign around 50 metres from where I park.

I appreciate they dont want hospital visitors dumping cars everywhere - in my defence my car was not causing a nuisance where I had parked it.

I am glad some people have so few issues in their life that they have time for stuff like this.

Any indication who it might have been? I'm wondering if it's possible to explain to them why you are repeatedly there, I'm sure few people would grumble under the circumstances.

Hope the nipper improves and quickly.

Have phoned his insurance who are saying they will fix it, courtesy car etc. Just have to phone my insurance  for an 'information only' report they can use to crank my policy next year.

Good old Ford main stealer, i ordered some snap rings that hold the cv joint into the gearbox for mrs fp's escort rs turbo, after waiting a week they arrived, I went to collect them today, guess what, they are wrong, they've ordered the circlips that hold the shaft into the cv joint, even though I explained exactly what was needed and you can clearly see on the computer picture what I needed...... idiots

SWMBO took her mum to visit her nan earlier, and called me just now to say theyve got lost.

All I can hear is the satnav saying 'turn around', and her mum jabbering on. I eventually work out where they are, but SWMBO goes into a full blown mental, and insists she follows the shatnav, which is about to take her full blown b road cross country, despite her being less than a mile from the m4, where waftage can occur.

I get told to be quiet, so I hang up. Fuck her, enjoy pissing your fuel away going back on yourself 8 miles then 23 miles cross country on a rainy shitty night love, im going to bed.

Yep. I called them back just now, and theyd gone into a multistorey carpark. Whilst I was trying to ask if they were in Winnersh, they asked a man who said they were at the Winnersh Triangle, which is where I said they were 20 minutes ago...

Dont worry Love, my local knowledge doesnt matter, you follow the satnav blindly. Suddenly all those news storys about dickheads driving up train tracks cos the satnav told them so doesnt surprise me any more! The bloke heard me on the phone through the voicemail and told them they should have listened to me in the first place. I bet that will be my fault too...

On the plus side, she's a good hour away from being home still. What to do, what to do?

Posted

Pretend to be soundly asleep, or, better yet get dressed, as it to go out, so that just as she puts her key in the door you can say you were so worried that you were just about to set out to look for her.

Or go down the pub.

Posted

Ah I cant do anything that funny, Evas asleep upstairs

Unless I wake her up to be part of it! Could cut her off at Marlow and express fake concern

Old bloke across the road has got a uber mint red mk4 Fiesta for sale. It's all its money at £325.

Would still love it, apart from not having the money or any need for it, I do have the space though..

Saying that I can get some pics if anyone's interested

Ran out of money today (again!) Had very little petrol in the car to get to work (yay!) Smashed my phone out of anger (good riddance!) and therefore couldn't take a picture of the Rover Sterling I spotted today (and, no, it wasn't mine)

Posted

I can understand your anger. Just think about what that 3p could buy you...A whole jelly baby, perhaps?

;)

But for the 1000's of cars that use that garage.... at 3p a time thats a helluva lot of jelly babies ;)
