Great planning by the roads people last night.

The A1 was closed at Retford for s/bound traffic and the overhead signs kept telling everyone that the M1 was closed from j28 - 26.

Well done - just the f**** M6 to go lads before all arterial routes were goosed.

Planning by a blind man corp.

And the signs on the M6 had the M54, M50 and M4 all closed too.

Amazon 1p cheaper wanker.

Amazon works like whoever is cheapest gets the buy box and all the sales. If 2 are the same price you get the buy box half the time, and so half the sales.

I have the buy box and a massive 50p profit. Along comes wanker with software set to be cheapest by 1p. Ok, lets see how low can we go? Turns out his price floor is profit = 10p.

So he can have 50p half the time, or 10p all of the time. Still if he wants to do 5 times as much work, and have 5x the stock on his shelf I'm quite happy to hold the price down. He's just sold out, so I've put the price back up. Wonder how many times we can go round the roundabout before he figures it out.

Well it still works, but half the screen has gone white. Richer Sounds said they'd swap it but only have the silver one in stock, which doens't match so I'm going to have to wait until they locate another one. Good thing I kept my trusty LG

my 20 year old sony CRT has just, this morning, come out in sympathy and gone green screen! Must hit ebay and buy another for a pound!

I have the misfortune to drive a truck at night. They are at the moment regularly closing all the major routes. En route from Doncaster to Chepstow, South Wales, I had the full house of A42, A46, M42 and M5 closed.

The other night they closed the m1 and diverted you towards Derby, where the diversion signs promptly disappeared. Yeah, thanks for that, I have a 16ft high trailer and don't know the area at all, really helpful, and I've got simply oodles of drive time left on my tachograph to fuck around on minor routes.

Can't afford a deposit for a house. Lol even if I could I don't have a job so I can't get a proper mortgage....

Oh, you don't want to worry about that. The newest brainwave* is to sell council houses off cheap so they can use the money to replace them with more expensive ones, so you should be able to rent wherever you like, before long.

I'd suggest a crate of Lech/Tyskie or similar might be a worthwhile present for him? These kind of people are well worth keeping sweet :-D

Always take him something in along with sweets or something for his kids - three little girls often around and about.

There was a thing on telly this week where some guy bought his council house in islington for 170k then immediatly put it on the market for 1 million.

Doesn't seen fair really I mean who isn't going to that but the council shouldn't be selling them .

How else are normal working class folk going to be able to stay in decent parts of central London .

The short answer is they wont. But fuck paying a million quid to live in poxy Islington.

There are very few council owned flats in Central London now, and those that remain are probably sub let to some wealthy bods who need them to kip in 3 nights a week.

M1 was shut at the M6 junction last night - no diversion, no advance warning, just matrix signs from about J13 saying it was closed. Thankfully I know the area, but if you leave it to J19 where the close was you just end up on the M6, no ifs or buts, it's a free flow junction.

My Baird Televisor from ye olden days of 2012 is about to celebrate Hitler's birthday by becoming too old for the Youtube app.

Always judge a television entirely on its merits as a display panel, and assume any 'smart' features will be useless, or so unpleasant to use you'll give up and plug your laptop into it instead.

My MATSUI brand microwave oven has finally packed up after an astonishing thirty years.

It still microwaves and the light still lights up, but the rotating base thing doesn't,

It just makes grumbling noises and is presumably about three minutes away from bursting into flames.

Ah well.

I'll probably bury it in the garden for future generations to discover, plug in and be astonished.

Just get a chromecast for 30 quid.

^ This. It's probably just a knackered rubber belt or something - shame to just chuck it after it's lasted this long.

I've always wondered what would happen if I snapped the door off a microwave and left it running pointed through the wall at nextdoors bedhead all night. Would it cook their heads? it's the perfect crime.

That would work better if his missus had gold teeth and was fond of performing oral sex on him.

Got a bit pissed off and smashed the screen of my Galaxy Tab 2, can still use it so it's just the top screen, it all still works underneath. So, thats more money to spend. I knew this would happen one day. Hey ho, that'll learn me. Mind you, I've still got the other Tab I bought off Dugong so I'll probably start transferring stuff to that and use that as my main until I can this one fixed.

Don't worry !  30 years ago it was possible to buy microwaves with no turntable, they were the cheaper ones without FLASH EXTRA BITS. You just have to turn the food around occasionally or find the sweet spot that heats evenly.  :-D
