On a car related grump, I really fancy a P4 after drooling over the ones on here. Do you think I can find one that isn't "optimistically priced"? I think I've missed the boat on that one.

I fear so, my friend...

Grump # 1:  I had a fine letter through the post last night for a failure to notify change of keeper.  I can't remember whether I did or didn't send off the logbook (it was a car I sold while I was in the process of moving house so things were a bit chaotic) so I may well be guilty as charged, but still fugging annoying.

Grump # 2:  had a letter today from my insurance broker advising me that the company I'm with has stopped writing trader's policies.  The broker is trying to obtain the best possible quote for my renewal in June, but the current company has consistently been the cheapest every year, to the tune of several hundred quid.  So that's going to be another increase in my outgoings, which needless to say will not be covered by the pitiful pay rise I've had this year.

Would you like us to choose one for you, and do you know how to get to Chester?

Right with you, brother.

2CV camp at the Shitefest '14 venue this weekend, and the weather is bloody awful. S'pose it is April...

Also need to shovel a fair amount of horse muck out of the field - good for the garden at least. The ground is very soft. I'm sure Shitefest attendees remember how interesting the entrance to the field was last year. It's quite a lot muddier now. Just about got the XM through for a test last night!

My grump for the day...

"Jean gusset wear"

No, she's not a double barrelled opera singer, my bollocks have worn through another pair of jeans, the rest of the jeans is fine but I've got draughty plums

/\ This. Almost every pair of Jeans I've had in the past 7/8 years has gone this way.

Got power output of zero, auto box as well.

like sitting in box, screen pillers so fat that they have put windows in them.

Hate it,certainly wont be driving that far.

You buggers have all got fat inner thighs - less pies lads!  :)

I wear the arse out of my jeans ('cos I spend my entire life sat on it) and the knees because I'm always falling over. My bollocks however are yet to make a bid for freedom! :)

Failure to notify of change of keeper? As long as you sent it then it becomes not your responsibility AFAIK

Posted

^^ this. Your legal obligations ended as soon as you dropped it in the post box.

The fact it never arrived at dvla,or that they have lost in their (shit) system is nothing to do with you

Posted

That's not the case apparently.  If you sold it to a trader your responsibility ends when you post off the little green slip, but if you sell it privately it's your responsibility to make sure the DVLA gets the message - that's why they send you those little confirmation slips, so if you don't get one you know to ring them up and check.  Or send everything recorded delivery.  Fuck knows why there's a difference, but there is.

Someone wrote in to complain on of our toilets was locked out of use, and to demonstrate this sent a used incontinence pad. What would posses you to do this!?

Posted

Do you have a return address? Call the cops, surely that's a biohazard and could be seen as threatening, same as if you send someone dog shit in the post.

If I sent someone a used sanitary towel in the post I would not use a return address. However if they did, you can bet anything they have also appeared on Jeremy Kyle at some point.

I'm not sure if it was out of malice or some very confused old giffer. Either way the company didn't see the funny side and have reported it to the police

I have always wondered if I sent a dog turd back to places I don't like in a SAE I got from them, whether I would get caught. I know at my work we just have a bunch of envelopes but do Aviva have a more sophisticated system?

If they don't let me know as there is loads of dog shit in the fields near my house. I will also need the address for customer services for Vodafone and Virgin media too.

Probably not. But all joking aside, no matter how much you hate a company don't forget it would be opened by the CEO but someone on minimum wage who has no say in their policies

That is a good point and nearly makes me feel sorry for the people who opened their freepost envelopes full of used tea bags, fag ends and general rubbish from my bin.

I have never spoken to the CEO when a company has fucked me off, just a fucking tit in a call centre.

Although I suppose I should write 'to be opened by addressee only' on any dog turd envelopes I send so as not to upset the post staff who I have nothing against.

Warning: Contains German Shepherd excrement, only to be opened by Rupert Murdoch.

I had a breech shit today and the effort involved in eeking the fecker out was too much for my anal tunnel

and it blew its innertube giving me the feeling of a white hot Manifold inserted into my clacker .

Had so many plans today - All which none got done as fire in the hole just killed me. Sat on three cushions all day with a face like aforesaid arse

Why would someone who uses incontinence pads actually need to use a public toilet anyway? I mean, if you're going to get all medieval about things, at least try and base it on logic.

Fecking FakeFace. I was casually scrolling through the newsfeed a few days back whilst eating my breakfast, only to discover that my sister in law had tagged my brother and had announced that they were expecting their second child. Is this a normal way for families to communicate? On a scale of one to pissed off, I was rather upset, and told my brother so when he text me at 10.30 in the evening to tell me the news. For this reason I've avoided it since - there seems to be a massive assumption that it's acceptable to announce big things and assume those that matter will read it. I still can't quite get my head around it.

The fact that your brother only bothered to send a text would have pissed me off more, TBH. His Mrs isn't family. He is.

Maybe it's just me, though........

No, you're right. The text wasn't even shortly after the tinternet announcement - it was many hours later, last thing in the evening. We're two very different people, but, my god, it has changed my perspective on close family relations. The next family get together will be bloody awkward to say the least, and there will be one key reason for it.

I have a sister but we aren't super close.

We had a period were we hadn't spoke for 6-8 months, what with work (she's a nurse so long hours)

The mrs and I bought a van and told a a few people on farcebook about it and our plans to cage it out for the dogs ect

Within 1/2 hr I got a text asking when it would be ok for me to go pick up a wahing machine from 20 odd miles away, seeing as we had this van.....
