And as if that wasn't enough, I've just been outbid on some 1/18 scale cars on ebay.  Fuck 'em, if I bid, that's what I'll pay, I'm not getting dragged into some bidding war on someone else's whim.  Fuck the lot of them.

My bloody TV died just now - Looked at the receipt bought it 12 months and 3 fucking days ago

You have got to be poking my japs eye with a combi drill bit

For fugs sake ..

Can you not go to the shop you purchased it at and claim the fact that it's not fit for purpose under the sale of goods act? The TV should last much longer than the warranty period, speak to your local citizens advice and see what they say, if you can save money buying a replacement do it

Well phoned up the shop - phone dead - not good, so hauled TV into car drove to shop - which is now a fugging tanning shop - went in and asked if they know what happened to said TV shop - Sod all

Bloody useless flatscreen bags of crap - Pulled my 20 year old Big assed Toshiba TV out the Shed -

Gone back to proper Tellys - bastards ..

What TV is it Fred? Start a thread over on the off-topic area, there's a few geeky folk might be able to get it going.

I bought an electric kettle from Currys or Comet, (can't remember) for £15.

The salesman asked if I wanted the extended warranty.

"How much" I asked, "£20" he replied.

Laughed all the way home.

He did look embarrassed asking me.

I got a phone call from one of my mothers friends this afternoon telling me that she had not been seen or contactable for 3 days, she didn't turn up for work this morning.

My self and my farther in law drove over this afternoon. On pulling outside the blinds were closed.

On entering the house i found her lying on the living roon floor i rang 999 within mins an ambulance turned up.

A long story short she has had a massive stroke she is in ITU in the stroke center on first test it seems there is nothing on the left side of her body and a massive swell on the brain.

Some knob wangler has sent me seven emails in a row about a cycle I'm selling on Gumtree. The messages have been repeats of what they previously said, some hints of desperation and them telling me how much the bike cost new, but being wrong on that.

They have, of course, offered me a shit price for it, which I've refused but offered a very discount to them. Now they have got arsey and told me they have loads to look, their price is final and they 'don't care' if they don't buy it.

I shall save my fingers typing out a response, then.

New wheel bearing ordered for MGF (the second one this week), fitted, and then discover the CV joint innards have completely collapsed, and that was what was making the clonking sound.

Total waste of the morning going to view another car.

405 diesel looked good in the pictures, sounded good on the phone and the price was right. 2 hours driving to get there and within 20 seconds I knew it had been a waste of time. It was mega-clean...ie just come out of the carwash clean, but all resprayed (badly) down the passenger side. Drivers door didnt close properly and had a manual window winder while the passenger side was electric. They had also just crudely hacked away the top of the door pocket to make way for the winder. Under the bonnet looked like had recently been on the receiving end of a drum of degreaser and a pressure washer, but being so clean perfectly highlighted the fresh oil leaking from a few places and diesel pissing out of the pump seals.

Thanks for nothing, pal.

Best Wishes to your mum DeeV8, at least she is in the best possible place now.

Been to visit my 89 yr old nan in hospital this afternoon, has osteoporosis, a broken arm, and really cannot do anything for herself anymore but says she is fine to go home now........to a 3 bed house!! Bit of a cack situation really, hopefully a nursing home is sorted in the next couple of days because the situation is becoming daft, and sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Absolutely. My gran went into a home when she became a liability - her mind was going, so leaving doors open or the cooker on etc. The home had company, safety and guaranteed food and warmth.

Totally Agree, I also forgot she mention she has the memory of a goldfish!

Likewise, well wishes to your Mum, DV8.

I have become resigned to the fact I'm not going to make the 40th anniversary do at Cowley in the Princess.  It's a bit disheartening really and just a victim of circumstance more than anything.  Without welding gas, indoor space or time to complete the floor patches, arch repair and reattach the outer sill I can't get her through the MoT and I haven't the funds to pay garage rates to get someone else to do it for me, it would be a pricey affair.  I'm pretty stuck on the old girl really, the only job I can do at the moment is replace the front displacer but there's no point doing that until I've booked her in for a suspension pump up which requires someone to come to me to do as the nearest place I know of that can do it is 4 miles away.  I'm not driving the Princess 4 miles with no MoT, tax or insurance to get the suspension sorted!

I think this frustration is part of the reason I've been throwing my efforts so much at commission work and the Renault, takes my mind off it.
