Been driving round looking at houses for sale. How do they manage to photograph something so small and shit yet make it look big and lovely.

On list of 10all of them were nothing like the pictures...

Had a horrible trip back down the A14. You've not lived until someone tries to pinball you into the central reservation shortly before driving the wrong way down the Catthorpe Interchange. The moron in the Discovery who waited until the very last minute to pull across the NSL section of the A605 from the Oundle side road was doing well, too. I love testing my ABS on greasy roads from 55, cheers.

Also, if I'm not posting on social media every 6.3 fentoseconds, I'm not avoiding you, it simply means I wish to catch up with real people in my down time, sorry.

NYD Shite Meet was good, though.

See a the A14 is down to its usual standards then. Good to see you and chat too. ( that's what the like is for, not for the twattish driving by the way).

The Rolls Royce silver shadow has a heated rear screen with very fine fillaments the same as the ford front screens and that was in a 1968 car. I don't think they have done heated front screens though

Top of range Renners also have heated screens ....well everyone apart from mine...... and i am sure i watched or read somewhere that warm water actually freezes quicker than cold water cant remember why though....ah ha here we are...

Yes the Mpemba effect ..... learn something new everyday...

Indeed. I have used the lukewarm-kettle-deice method for many years though. A spare wiper blade is all you need. Pour, wipe, job done.

Flat tyre on bike. THE WORLD WANTS ME TO BE FAT!

(* I was driven to eat the biscuits by uncontrollable supernatural forces, obviously. ).

Got a tube yesterday, it is one that allegedly self heals (got goo in it that scabs over any small holes), the brand has mixed reviews but it was the only one in the shop in the right size. Put it on last night, just crammed my flab into my ridiculous cycling gear to go out...

FLAT

F*CKING

This afternoon.

So I ate a chocolate orange instead. Up yours health, exercise and size 10 clothes.

Unintentionally possibly stating the obvious, but there's probably still something in the tyre. With those goo filled ones the idea is to pick the wheel off the floor, spin it by hand then re-inflate, I think.

I had one that went straight back down because the thorn was still in it, so I removed it, blew it up and it was fine. Another went down but span and blew back up no problems, and one mystery one that I just found the leak on and patched up, was fine afterwards.

You can buy a liner that goes between the tyre and the tube, but on-line reviews suggest the tube chafes on them at some point and they cause it to blow out!

Cheers Cav, I should have mentioned it isn't happening on the tyre side, all three punctures have been between the tube and the rim, the rim tape doesn't seem to be protecting the tube against the holes along the rim (where the spokes are) but rim tape aside they don't feel sharp.

Mega annoying.

Can you feel any loose spokes at all? It might be that with the weight of the bike on the wheel one is just pushing through enough to puncture the tube. I'd also (humbly, as you might already know) suggest marking the tyre by the valve with chalk, then if you strip it to find the puncture you can marry up where the leak is and hopefully find the problem.

Any debris, however small, inside the tyre itself can also cause problems, so don't just feel round for spikes, see if there's any old bits of paper or stuff in there also.

Ta, can't see anything obvious, luckily the goo in this tube meant it was pretty easy to see where it went wrong, just can't see why.

Some friends have invited us out for a get together meal next Friday. Quote " we are both on a diet as we have put loads of weight on over Christmas, also we are doing dry January so wont be drinking" Unquote.

So that will be a fun evening then....

Pointless.

Are you expected to do the same? Can you not wolf down a big steak, swill beer and smile at them as they consume their minineral water and rabbit food?

It's what I'd do.

A forum I frequent has been changed, so now there's no chat section/help etc. just FAQ's and a few supplier sections and off Topic.

Great very helpful.

If you don't want to answer questions don't but as it is it's useless now.

And someone's already been told the post in off topic they made is not off topic... ffs there's no other section you can post in.

The van was new in March last year so I only got a couple of frosty days to try it out. By the time it was frosty again it was broken.

Yes, exactly; mine too.

I put my CL up for sale today on gumtree. After the first text I've now  taken it off gumtree. Nothing really wrong with the text as such I just realised I can't  be arsed dealing with selling a car just now. I'm just going to enjoy the rest of my holidays and put it back up next week so the selling process is rolled into the misery of going back to work.

You should advertise it on here. Internet messages asking for your lowest price at 3.27am won't wake you up, text messages will.

Ask him what the lowest he'll go is. If he says 'Vauxhall Vectra' get round with the cash asap.

Same here. I put the Corsa on gumtree on NY day (emails only though) and had lots of contact already, but no actual viewings. Only one asked 'will you take offers' and the others sounded OK i.e. they could string a coherent sentence together. But not sure I can be arsed at the minute either so no great loss.

Bloody DVLA again! Both the BX and the van were insured with monthly DD, which I cancelled at the end of November and December respectively. Despite receiving an email from the DVLA stating "If you pay by Direct Debit your Direct Debit will be cancelled.", on 1/12/14 I had a DD taken out for the BX, and on 2/1/15 I had one taken out for the van. Next time I'll cancel the DD myself when I SORN something, as I don't imagine it'll be easy or swift getting my £40 back!

Next grump is receiving a letter today from the bank saying a payment between my accounts has been returned due to insufficient funds, and I've been charged £8 for that. Yet when I looked at it (which is how I noticed the DVLA cock up) there was and is still enough money in to make the payment!
