I think you're gonna have to take it on the chin, spesh if he has offered a refund but (for whatever reason) that's no good.

Companies that never reply to your job application. I know I'm hardly unique in that, but not only does it feel like your attempt was so lousey they couldn't even be bothered to say thanks but no thanks, but you have no idea where you went wrong to improve things

Yep they piss me off too, but not as much as the employment agencies they use, they really piss me off, you find the the perfect job that fits all your skill set, have years of the right experience in the job and they don't submit your application, wankers the lot of them.

I know exactly what you mean. I've sent off 64 applications ( to different jobs not the same one!) and have only had 8 replies. If I take the time to fill out the application they could at least have the courtesy to send a reply even if it is a generic one!

Rant over!

It's no good because I can't (and don't want to) give the wheels back. The wheels and tyres already on the van were scrubbing at the back and were bent at the front - they were basically scrap. I'm annoyed  because I'm out of pocket. The tyres needed to go on the van for a week or two while I got new ones sorted through work. They didn't even have to be brilliant, just legal enough for me to drive the bloody thing to the tyre fitting bay. I'm out of pocket because of that knob (other wooden knobs are available).

The seller's a liar and doesn't deserve the money they went for. He deserves £50 because the steel wheels were straight - that was the only part of the description that was accurate.

I'm furious I'm the one being made out to be telling porkies when the little turd can hide behind a stupid returns policy and claim he's whiter than white. If you describe four tyres as having 4-5mm of tread and being 'road legal' I expect that, not a set of knackered barge fenders. Ebay's complaints procedure is pathetic and inflexible.

I'll have to take it as it is, then. Returning the wheels would be a nightmare and there's no way in hell he's having them back with three new tyres on. He's getting negged and blocked.

The whole thing is crap, sorry. Took a gamble on eBay and it didn't work. Shocker.

Just neg his ass in that case.

Have you got a picture of the wheels themselves, Jon?

If you're not happy with what you bought, accept his offer of a refund and give the whole lot back. If you want to keep the rims you have to keep the shitty tyres sadly. When you decided to keep the rims and put some new hoops on you gave up the chance of any redress on the deal.

Ebay is shit.

People need to start fucking them off and using other means.

When the shareholders begin to suffer, maybe they'll do something.

Except the shitty tyres were not as described. Why can't eBay's stupid policies take this into account?

It's not as black and white as that bOl, as I've explained.

I don't have any other wheels and tyres for the van.  I couldn't have fitted those wheels and tyres to the van because they were comically illegal and the wheels and tyres that were on it were terrible and rubbed.

I've got four of these (14") which I'm pretty sure are 4x108 PSA rims, quite probably from a BX

Tyres look shot but if you want the wheels let me know ASAP please as was going to put them on the Fiesta when I weigh it in.

New tyres for the Knob Van can't be mega bucks, I just bought four brand new 205/50-17s for only £50 each. eBay tyres bought unseen are always going to be something of a gamble. I'm sorry for not being totally up to speed on the topic but surely the van came with wheels when you bought it?

Yes it did. But they were from a 206, which meant the offset was completely wrong.

The rear wheels rubbed on the body and the front wheels were bent. Although a similar size, the tyres were borderline and a bit perished. They weren't usable.

I'll have the wheels please, Billy. When can I pick 'em up?

Todays grump is aimed at.... ME!

Just checked my online bank statement and saw a transaction for WM Morrisons. I never go anywhere near Morrisons, what the fuck is going on? Major panic set in - card fraud, cloning, etc - so i rang the Barclays fraud line, went through all the security questions and then get ' Sorry, this helpline is currently experiencing high rates of calls and all our advisors are busy. Please ring again later' !

Found another number for them and tried again, panic REALLY setting in by now, went through all the same security questions, punching in numbers, date of birth, mothers maiden name etc then on hold for ten minutes...

While on hold, I started checking again and just at the moment I got through to a very nice advisor, I remembered what it was, petrol station last Saturday is a bloody Morrisons! The lady checked it for me and was, she very nice when I apologised for being a complete, senile old git who panics at the drop of a hat!

I said something less than complimentary about Mrs P on a text to a mate when a bit annoyed.

Mrs P read text.

Mrs P rather displeased.

Shit.......

Moral of the story - never ever say anything to anyone about anything ever

Right.....for the whole lot. Which I'd have to send back. Which I can't do.

Closed the case. Pissed off, but there's not a lot I could have done. Life's too short, etc etc.

Final statement left for eBay.

Despite having three completely illegal tyres, I'm not going to get what I want from the seller.

I'm out of pocket having to have three new tyres put on the wheels, which were otherwise accurately described. The tyres were unusuable.

Rather than having the case decided in terms of a full refund (which isn't possible given that the wheels are now attached to my vehicle) I'll keep the wheels and make good my loss.

I am not impressed with the inflexible nature of eBay's resolution process or the attitude of your seller, who sold me three tyres that were unsuitable as barge fenders.

I resent being called a liar and am deeply unhappy with the transaction as it stands.

I won't buy wheels and tyres from eBay in the future. Too much effort. Sellers like [redacted] have too much protection. He isn't getting the wheels back with three new tyres on, no way in hell.

Not impressed, eBay. Frankly, it's piss poor.

I told ebay and paypal to FRO after a dickhead took my money and both he & ebay refused to refund when the thing never arrived. It felt great & I eventually got my money back through a Visa chargeback that in turn took the money back from the sellers paypal account.

I've moved over to Amazon for ordering new stuff online and for used/collectable stuff my policy is to only deal face to face from now on.

As far as ebay are concerned, you buy something through them - if you like it great, if you don’t like it you can send it back and get a refund. In this case you are saying you are happy with part of it and want to keep that half, but you are not happy with the other half and want some sort of refund on that. It’s not really surprising that eBay don’t want to get involved with splitting up and arbitrating on the values of fractions of eBay items is it.

By keeping the wheels you are accepting to keep the tyres too. If the tyres were totally unacceptable to you, you should have rejected the whole lot!!! Its straightforward.

^ the voice of wisdom.

A similar thing happened to me and I just thought sod it I will take it on the chin and neg the seller, funny though as he was able to have the neg feedback removed simply because he had offered a full refund on return of goods,

Lesson learned.

NPower are a bunch of absolute jokers. My bills from them were at best totally random. They didnt bil me at all for 8 months at one point. Got fed up and switched away a few months ago and even though I wanted to argue the final bill, I paid it for an easy life.

3 months later theyve now come back and decided I owe them another £22. They can whistle for that.

If any company deserves to go into administration - its them. How they have any customers left is beyond me.

I've been hunting for another toy recently and like a few others I used Confused.com as a rough guide to insurance prices, with Autonet coming out cheapest every time. Last week I bought a car and called Autonet where I had a 30 minute question session followed by 10 minutes on hold to then be told they were busy and they would call back soon, which they didn't. They called back the next day while I was at work wanting to start the process from the very start again, I said no, already done that, get someone to dig out all the info already given and call back and I'll pay. Didn't hear from them again.
