Shame we cant register autoshite as a trademark or something....?

The group was originally set up by AS members as a way to let other members know what was happening when we was having all those forum issues a while ago, sadly it's now grown into a monster.

Got an appointment for a scan at 2pm, and I'm Nil By Marf since 8am.

I'm spitting sawdust, on a really nice day, and I've got 2 litres of pop in the fridge. And bacon.

AAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Another one recently was the 600 post thread on "oldclassiccars" about whether the Triumph Acclaim was a classic or not, honestly some of the replies was ridiculous.

Link?

The only good thing about those Facebook groups is that I can sound like I know what I am talking about. Obviously I don't but its all relative innit. The level of their ignorance and stupidity is quite amazing.

That 'oldclassiccars' one is turning into a right load of bollocks quite rapidly.

In other new enjoying a very nice ride home from work down the canal and some silly old duffer has his dogs off the lead. One stays with him, the other make a beeline for my (very slowly turning) front wheel. Unable to miss the bastard I fell off. Onto and through a barbed wire fence and into a BFO thorn bush. I didn't have a go at the old boy as he looked like he was pushing 80 odd and for once I don't think swearing at him was the right thing to do.

I've just posted pics of my XJ6 on there, how long before I get told it's just a Mondeo underneath?

This place has grown out of recognition compared to how it started out too, let's not forget.

It used to be half a dozen anti-social old farts talking about Talbot Tagoras, now look at it. We've got a fucking word association thread going on in the other section.....

Eeeeee, I remember when this were all fields......

I got sent to an incorrect address today and waited 5 hours for a non existent load. While I was there another lorry reversed into mine and ripped the side locker door off. Its done an astounding amount of damage, the whole side of the cab is bowed out. 6 months old too!

Oh FFS, I get a new battery for the Supra and its fixed for one day, and now the power steering pump is dying a horrible whiney grumbly death. Then to top it off, I go to give the Lancia a check over before Shitefest and there's a fucking trouser tent like bulge on the inner sidewall of one of the rear tyres. New tyre time as well then, spiffing.

Had three interviews today. Two with my current employer, one elsewhere. Except the elsewhere one was in the middle so I've driven to Hemel Hempstead, then to Brentford, back to Hemel and then home. 230 miles or so and mega-stress having to use the M4, M25 and M1 with no scope for getting held up in traffic. Plus, whilst I got my car back without it needing a DPF (just a FAP refill and a manual regen), so saving £800, it now feels like the EGR is playing up, or perhaps the flywheel. Whatever, it is jumpy as hell at 70mph - you know, that speed you tend to do on the motorway when you've got to do 230 miles. So it's been a mega-stressy day really.

My Dad's being transferred from the hospital to a hospice to see out his last few days...old age is a bastard.

Sorry to hear that Cheggers, I hope they look after him well. My aunt was in a local one recently, can't thank them enough for what they did for her.

i had to recover mrs fordpervs dads focus mk1.5 earlier, it had just cut out on him and wouldnt restart it turns out looking at it that the fuggin fuel pump has given up  why did ford not make an access hole for the pump under the seat, bloody idiots

Posted

Because it would have cost $0.00000000000001 per unit.  This is a company that decided it would be cheaper to pay compensation for fire deaths and horrific burns than to redesign a bumper bolt.

I once had aScorpio saloon that had an aftermarket access hole in the boot floor,I think for fuel pump , I never removed the pop rivets to look!

Got to be up at four in the morning for work. Do you think I can sleep or even relax?

I have added an aftermarket access hole to it when I was around there earlier, I gave him the option of me either dropping the tank or adding the inspection hole he chose the easiest option, just gotta source a pump now but that shouldn't be too much of a problem

Still, better to notice it now than halfway up a Welsh mountain in the pissing rain.

One of the tugs at work has had a massive collision with a lorry just up the quay besides me, loaded lorry has been dragged the other direction and 30 ft along by his passenger side cab with the tugs trailer. It's very messy and now the air ambulance has landed. It's not sounding good for the lorry driver.

Reminds me what a dangerous environment I work in. :/

Not one of ours is it? I find Felixstowe very stressful, there is ALOT to watch out for and ALOT that can crush a lorry and driver. On the road the truck is king but go to a large port and you're suddenly bottom of the food chain!

Posted

It's not a Stobart, for a change!, I can't see who is, just a white cab. It looks as if he hasn't stopped at a road way on the way out and a passing tug has collected him with his trailer.

The cab is a right mess, apparently he poor chaps in a bad way.

Stella, my ever faithful lurcher, will sadly be put down this afternoon, once all the family have arrived to say goodbye.

Old age & advancing cancer have  just robbed her hind legs. My powerful drugs are keeping her calm/ pain free, till the moment comes

Amstel, (my Gt Dane/Alsation X) & I will miss her dreadfully.
