MGTEK Dopisp allows you to use your iSPAZZ device as a removable disk with Windows Media Player.

Using these on an iPhone is preferable, though. The whole box, just to be sure.

They do it very badly then. I now have a 100% legal collection through ripping CDs but prior to that I had hundreds of torrented albums there. Even better, if you have a crappy quality version they replace it with their own good one! It's like iTunes Match but free. That statement dates back to when everyone was claiming music locker sites were illegal, it's nearly three years old. Google couldn't give a shit where your music comes from if it ties you into their phones and services :-) now they have the record labels on board (which is who they were trying to impress with the anti piracy claims) they can do whatever they want.

I might give it another go then. TBH most of my stuff is legal too now. I used to download stuff to see if I liked it by new bands before buying the album but you can listen to stuff on YouTube now before buying.

My theory was that if I listened to it after downloading it I would buy it. If I don't listen to it, I wont. Prime example is of the Miami Nights 1984 albums which I basically listen to all the time so went out and bought so that I can pretend I am in the 1980's when driving around in my 80's cars.

Will link to this one at when you read it with the top quote the video is quite amusing.

Movie Director :Ok blond chick, just sit in the car and finger yourself.

Aye. Go to the Google Play Music website and it'll want to install a doofer to your PC that lives down in the taskbar. You sign in to your Google account and tell it where all your music is (or leave it as default if you've not moved it to clever places. You can also tell it that you already have iTunes and it'll hijack all the music from there too)

It then works away in the background, looking at your music and deciding if it already has it (which most common stuff it does). If it has that - it magically appears in your Google Music selection. If it doesn't have it, it uploads your copy which takes a bit longer but has the same result.

Go into Play Music on your phone (which will be there on anything fairly recent - it's the yellow headphone icon rather than the old black one) and you should see the music start to appear. Tap the drawing pin icon when you're on wifi to force it to save on your device and it'll download it to your phone. If it's not downloaded, you can still play it but it'll stream which might munch through your data allowance. You can then "unpin" to free up the space for new stuff.

And finally, you can go to the Play Music website, sign in and play your choons anywhere that has a web browser.

You need a third party bit of software if you want to rip music off a cd or whatever. The ability to drag mp3s and mp4s on to android devices as if they're just a drive is really handy.

Genius.

Isn't that the opposite of what itunes and its cohorts does?

Posted

Yes all apple products require iTunes to get media on and off them. The android devices allow you to drag stuff on but some come with software like iTunes mainly for converting media into the correct format.

I think the google play stuff puts all your stuff in the cloud (read interwebz) so you can access it anywhere.

I hate phones.

And New Year's. I'm not being told that today's OK to be happy.

Correcto. I find it most useful as I have two laptops, a Chromebook, a tablet and two phones so I get access to the same music on all of them. Also, it's free. And cables are SOOOOO 2013.

A nice idea but I've never been able to get anything cloud related to work. Dropbox was a total disaster for me.

In what way? I've never known anyone else have problems with Dropbox.

I could never 'see' the files I'd transferred. All the directories were empty.

The 306 has been leaving its mark were ever it goes for some while. So I ordered a sump gasket and rocker cover gasket as they both looked suspect.

Nice easy job I reckoned.

Likewise. MS gave me the bells and whistles SkyDrive for nowt, so I use it instead. Works GR1024 with my Windows Phone.

How many people of any age read books any more? I bet the majority don't now, no matter what age.

Everyone in my family, even the smaller grandchildren.

There's only toffee pennies and those long ones left in the Quality Street, Christmas is over.

They brought tins of Roses an QS round on the last day at work.

The idiot I work with selected one in an orange wrapper, with an orange dot on the sweet.

Bit into it then spit it out, saying "I hate orange chocolates"!

As at close of play today, I have not been paid this month, so I'm reluctantly (temporarily!) raiding the 'rainy day fund'.  I foresee an interesting and somewhat focussed conversation taking place on Thursday morning...

When did a RAILWAY station become a mother-shitting 'train station'?

Probably about the same time that bus stations  became random bits of street corner

When did a RAILWAY station become a mother-shitting 'train station'?

..and around the time "passengers" became "customers"

NO WAI. I didn't know about this. R.I.P Uncle Phil.

Bloody hell! R.I.P. uncle Phil indeed. Sad times :(

Train station instead of railway station is becoming more of an irritation as I get older, as is customer instead of passenger. When did we become bloody customers? It's not like I'm pitching up at the railway station to browse the trains before choosing to go by bus instead.

Rail passengers have been getting called customers for about 20 years now. I think somebody pointed out that "passenger" implied an element of transport, which didn't happen very often in the early 90s.
