I noticed that near a friend's place in Oxford last weekend - about three or four houses had cardboard boxes outside filled with various bits and bobs and a "Free - please take" sign.  I think if you tried that in my area all you'd get is people posting on the local Facebook group somehow convinced that something untrustworthy was going on.  (I'm waiting for someone to complain on there about me snapping photo spots of unusual cars while out for a walk!)

I’ll put it outside and see what happens . Wife was worried about getting done for fly tipping but we’ve had plenty of stuff leant against our wall by others which was taken or I ended up taking to the tip. Pisses me off and another reason for cctv to find out who’s doing it.

I had to warn the landscapers working here not to leave any tools sitting around if they were going away for any time or overnight.  They didn't believe me until two spades vanished when they were away picking up some supplies.

As for anything being construed as suspicious - Yep, I've had parents near enough getting violent for "taking photos of their kids" when I was just documenting work I was doing on the cars on my drive and they happened to be walking past.  Most recently when I was half way through fitting one of the cylinder heads to the Rover - yeah, like it wasn't obvious I was in the middle of something and totally oblivious to someone walking past 50' away.  They were less than impressed when I pointed out that they were already on CCTV anyway both covering my driveway and from our neighbours across the street even if I wasn't working on the car, and they were welcome to a copy of the footage of them passing by and harassing me, to take to the police.  That seemed to shut them up.

I cannot bloody wait to be out of here.  Nearest neighbour 5-10 miles away sounds *perfect.*

Because of reasons I've documented elsewhere, and I won't go into again so as not to bore the crap out of everyone, I'm currently unable to play with my real cars.

So I'm spending too much time on the internet.

By god there's some shit out there.

I don't do Facebook, but I'm bored with it really quickly. I've taken to playing with my slotcars again, far more rewarding.

I saw an article on the news about somewhere losing their internet for two weeks, I appreciate if you use it for business that'd be a pain, but you'd think the world was ending.

Get a life ( he said on the internet! 🤔)

This x1000. I know loads of people who are constantly spamming the socials with photos of them or their kids, plus all the personal details of their lives. My favourite is holiday photos on Facebook whilst they're actually still away. Saves potential thieves a job trying to work out if anybody's home before they empty the oil tank or the workshop.

This is seriously shite luck, man. Do you have a friend who could report to the Council that they've seen a terrible looking pothole that needs urgent attention lest it should pop someone's tyres, wait two weeks, then you hit the pothole?

We put my daughter's out in the car park 100 yds from her house, there is nowhere closer, went to the shops a mile away and it was gone when we came back.

Had to shut this Muppet in the wet room last night. She's in season, and bleeding everywhere, and being more cranky than usual with people she's not familiar with. So when we had a visitor I shut her away. She's not allowed outside because I don't want her breeding, and particularly not with her dad.

She only locked the bathroom door!

Cue me kicking the door open to get her out after said visitors had gone, ripping off the keep plate and loosening the lock, which I then had to repair, and then mop the floor because she got scared and pissed everywhere.

Remind me again why I've got dogs?

I was going to take a picture of it on my way back from the customer it’s like a crater across the road, I was following a 7.5t truck that just bounced through it and I didn’t realise till last minute it was there.  The accountant at my work recons she can put a claim in to the council, yeah it’s a company car but it still pisses me off

Should be able to claim @goosey, but try and get back asap and take a pic, preferably with something like a newspaper for scale and date.

I've heard of councils filling them in quick, and then it's 'what potholes?' when there's a claim pending 😕

My mate's Dad once ripped up their patio and shoved all of the rubble into the front garden with a sign that said 'Free Hardcore'.

Of course, it took literally minutes for somebody to write 'Porn' on the sign.

Fuck bad luck 😭

I popped 2 passenger side tyres once coming back from Shitefest 2015. Clipped a bit of sharp rock on a Welsh hillside and lost one instantly, the front lasted another 20 miles. 

Was on much much cheaper tyres and steelies though 😬

It's the same here or you have to go to the tip or pay the council to collect the larger and/or heavier items. Last year it was about £70 for 5.

Finally got a telephone consultation with my GP today.  I'd asked for in person (after they wasted the entirety of the last one taking my weight and blood pressure and telling me I was overweight and my blood pressure was too high, both of which I already knew), but you take what you can get.

"Oh, no.  We'll need to see you in person to talk about that."

You lot are the ones who insisted on the bloody telephone consultation...aaaargh...

"Fine, can you book one in then?  Oh, we're too busy at the moment, we're not taking any bookings in person, you'll need to use the web portal."

Uses web portal triage thingie to request an appointment.  

Hour and a half later, email arrives.  You have an appointment on the 23rd of May (which I can't make)...for a telephone consultation.

Have to say the docs here are excellent.  None of that nonsense.

Asked to see a doctor for a non-urgent consultation.  Could have had it an hour later but opted for the following day.

In to see him right on time.  Pharmacy in the same building and on the same floor, picked up prescription on my way out, already waiting.
