PLEASE NOTE:

The above advice may be infact useless judging by the amount of large/heavy/fragile objects hurled at me by members of the opposite sex young and old, related or otherwise over the years. Hope this helps.

I could have done with my fucking Rover Sterling last night. In fact, everytime I've needed it,

Mate, I seem to be having your share of happy 800 ownership. Sorry about that. Chin up, though, my second and fifth gear are starting to play up.

...there may be trouble ahead.

A banger driver got killed this afternoon at the Hednesford Pre-68 meet, Seems like he was getting out of his car when another one ploughed into him in front of all the spectators and his family. What a horrible, sad way to die. R.I.P to the driver.

That's appalling and my heart goes out. Must have been horrible to be there. Not good for banger racing, either, when the h & s brigade descend I'd imagine it having far reaching consequences...

Whatever individual thought regarding pre 68 racing nobody deserves that, can not imagine how the family of the deceased feel, the other driver involved or for that matter the 100's of specators, just out for an afternoons enjoyment that ended up witnessing such a terrible thing.

Looking on Ovalchat quite a few people have said the same, some saying that there's so many accidents now what they are thinking of retiring and this could be the end of banger racing as they know it.

I'm personally not fussed either way as i don't go but when someone gets killed for a sport/hobby they loved you can't help but feel sorry for them.

I added the pm's because I thought it was amusing. :D

Is the amusing bit deciding which of you comes across as the bigger dick? Or realising that he's squashed the car you wanted because you wound him up?

Fucking electrics. The new battery I chucked into the Scorpio a few weeks back is already playing up. Trip meter duly reset and dancing needles after only a couple of days' worth of rest for the car. If it happens again, I'm replacing it and the next one will have to be the 130-quid Motorcraft jobbie.

Before you go spunking more money on another (better...?) battery, check there's no electrical gremlins dragging the charge down when at rest. They can be a sod to diagnose, but (and didn't you know this was coming  ) you can always try whacking a smaller socket on it :D

Whip the positive lead off the battery and put a cheapie multimeter between the battery and the positive lead - set to current readout. Current needs to be done in series. Do NOT start the car with this arrangement in place, most cheap multimeters would not stand the cranking amps but you're looking for a reading above say half an amp when "idle" - all that should be running is the memory for the stereo, maybe a trickle to the ECU, a feed for the central locking and alarm etc. Big current draw here shows that your battery is fine but the car is draining it.

sounds good. I'm off to poundstretcher tomorrow to check whether they've got any cheapo multimeters in their "electrical leftovers" section.

Whilst driving down the A12 this afternoon in the Kadett doing a steady 65-70mph this Scenic came tearing past be before slamming on the brakes behind the traffic, The motorbike in the back, which seemed to be a 600cc, looked to have been held in by a small bit of rope and the passenger in the front was holding the back wheel in.

I didn't follow for long for fear of it falling out in front of me, but how bad does that look!

He's got that for when the Scenic breaks down.

From the side it probably looks like an Autocar road test circa 1985.

Almost as bad as using a phone whilst driving :P

PMs. The private messages don't own anything. A bit rich coming from someone who was berating another user on the accuracy of their spelling and punctuation.

The advert was by no means the worst I'd seen regarding legibility. Txt speak and tragic apostrophe usage wind me up too, but it just isn't as important to some people. Others are bone idle, and that's when it begins to irritate me. I don't see what this bloke did to deserve your little tirade. You have to keep on the right side of sellers, especially if they have something you want. You did yourself and the car no favours whatsoever. Of course I haven't seen the other spares thread you alluded to - but based on the evidence presented, you acted the greater cock in that little exchange of views.

If I'm honest, had you sent me that level of abuse as a supposed 'interested party', I'd have probably flattened the fucking thing to spite you too. Better a firm £150 in my pocket than take e-abuse off a grammar nazi.

Do please point out where I'm wrong, because I often am. In this instance, I'm just struggling to see how you came out on top.

My son recently sold his motorcycle leathers on Ebay. They sold for £171.03, Ebay want £24... for f*cks sake what a bunch of money grabbing tossers.

+1 they should be looked into... the fees they take off you at the final sale is a fucking disgrace... i would rather bin things or give them away rather than use that pile of steaming shite known as ebay

The pricing a rules have got silly now on ebay, I was walking around a autojumble today and i heard a few traders moaning about ebay saying how they don't use them anymore as they paypal now charge for postage/ and how they have had a number of buyers claim the goods haven't arrive and get their money back.

It sounds as if Ebay have shot themselves in the foot a bit.

Yet another example of bad driving that a speed camera can't see. That is points and a fine for unsafe load for sure.

Samsung GT-S8500. NOS from the Carphone Whorehouse. Satnav, FM radio, WiFi all great. A pity, then that it won't actually make calls, or recieve them.

I should have known the thing was A BIT SHIT, as while running the hard reset the phone screen says "Please be of patient. Phones are now resetting is"

My laptop died yesterday. Not really flush for cash so that's a bit of a problem. Currently using an old Toshiba and I think it's got a misfire.

On top of this, changing the cambelt on the BX is proving to be a major pain in the arse. I'm now not sure if I've got the right water pump as the impeller seems smaller on the new one. Arse.

Well my plans to buy that manual Porsche 928 went as expected. By expected I mean the various cars I had for sale on ebay didn't sell and I couldn't buy the Porsche. It went for £1700, which is about what I'd have been comfortable paying for it.

Yesterday night, about 7 pm, flicking through TV stations, found that I was receiving Sky Sports 1+2+3+4, which I don't subscribe to. Bonus.

Are they there today?

No.

Bumholes.
