Oh dear! I was very tempted by the Minx when I saw it on the blue, but there was a question mark over its roadworthiness because it was OMG MoT Exempt! And he wanted too much for it, obviously, although the price had been reduced by about a grand to a sensible figure by the time it sold. Wasn't the clutch f*cked as well?

Yes. When I test drove it, the clutch was slipping very slightly. I chose to have it recovered instead of driving it home when I bought it, and by the time I'd driven it up the ramp onto the truck it definitely needed doing!

I'm pretty happy with the old girl mechanically now though, and I reckon it would pass an mot once the weldage has been completed. At the moment I'm (re)doing the nsr wheelarch (wob removal and getting some metal in there)

What would be really good, would be to find a repair panel, so if anyone knows where I can get one I'd be grateful. If not, beating an arch repair panel is well beyond my skill level but fortunately I have a neighbour who could do it.

Then it's Dinitrol or similar underneath, ankor wax on the paintwork to preserve the patina, and drive.

Pretty much most people have seen the car I own. But since I last replied here, a couple of things have changed.....

DAILY - RAB C STERLING

Snapped up for free and delivered to me by Andy McCMS206 nae bothar (HIGHLY recommended). Since I got my grubby hands on it, it has cost me a fair bit of money but its been well worth it. 100/10 - I LOVE this car 8)

My 'stand by' Sterling. Last on the road in 2009 or something, it was my daily for a few months, then I went to Kuwait. I had NIL worth of moolah when I came back from the 'goodness knows how many months' jolly to Kuwait. It was towed to my then newly rented garage in Streetly tha' Coldfield but has now has recently taken up residence in Worcester. I LOVE this car 8)

MK1 STERLING OF DOOM

G-reg Mk1 Sterling. When I last replied here, this car was undergoing a gearbox fitment, full service and MOT. This was probably the most sorted car I'd ever had, great mechanics and a rust free body. It was my daily for a good year and a bit until it decided to chuck its own engine and internals. This culminated in an uneeded day off work and a smokey scare-fest of a drive to Worcester where I dumped it at my mates. It has now been stored in the barn where I dumped it. I really can't be arsed with this car right now.

MK1 STERLING - GLORIOUS SOUNDING RUST BUCKET

This thing came about from a swap I did with an identical car that shot its internals. The previous owner ofvthis car got himself the shell of my old White Sterling that he could weigh in for moolah and I still retained ownership of a White E-reg 825 Sterling. Mind, I've never actually had E50UKJ on the road and I've driven it probably a couple of meters at the most. I'd like to put it back on the road at some point but it needs work and attention. It's got a great interior, like being back in 1986, but the body is fairly rusty, the engine though sounds as sweet as a nut, even the exhaust sounds great. But it's gonna need a grand and a bit chucking at it to make it presentable. Hence why it lives undercover off road. I love this car :-D

THIS, is a great car! bread n' butter stuff. A big car capable of transporting 4 full-sized adults in comfort. Sounds like a Montego and drives how a Rover 800 shouldn't. But I LOVE this car. I love the fact it exist and that I own it. Similar reg to the equally Silver Mk1 825i that Gaydon apparently have (D170 OOJ vs my car D280 OOH) 8)8)

Quality shizzle here. This is my Mothers car (so I'm told). Nevertheless I have treated and cared for it as if it is my own (and it bloody well will be if I get my own way). In fact, we have an agreement. Ma owns it and I am responsible for it, seems a bit unfair to me but someone needs to look after it. It's been with us since I was about 17, I am now 30. It's been on the road continuously since 1998 bar one year when it was kept under a sheet in a garage in Streetly when Ma bogged off to AussiLand.

I have added OEM dealer/factory 'options' to it since, rear speakers, A-pillar tweeters, OEM mats (from a Nissan March) rear trim cubby holes, rear ashtray. Wheel trims have lost but replaced thanks to muggins 'ere and his bank account. This little likeable little blob on wheels will have more work done to it soon, including re-fitting an OEM exhaust system, wiper motor change and coolant flush and gear link spring re-attached.

I love this car 8):-D

Sure you've all seen it before but this is the (in)famous 220SLi as owned and mended by Mr_B011ox.  Since owned by sixcylinder and mastervan, now in my custody where it should be staying a while.  Cosmetically challenged but mechanically sweet as a nut.  It's also properly fast, does 40mpg, is comfortable, spacious and has a towing hitch.  What else could you possibly need?

Oh, and it cost £100.

Subsequent MOT and maintenance repairs may have exceeded the purchase price slightly.

Time for an update, indeed!

My fleet currently looks like that:

2007 Mazda 6 2.0i Sport Combi

qkja.jpg

Bought it in October 2013. It survived an accident on 24/12/2013, has not been written off, now it´s repaired and back on the road. It´s my Autobahn-stormer and daily driver. Has to park out on the road in Vienna and has to drive through the salty winter. Nothing I would do with my other cars. I hope it will be reliable.

1987 Mitsubishi Pajero 2,5 TD DL Wagon 4WD

dscn7154e.jpg

Bought it in March 2013. It´s only a nice-weather-car because it has to be the best and most original Pajero surviving in Austria. Almost no rust at all, ~ 60.000 genuine miles on the clock, one owner before me. I want to keep it in this outstanding condition, so no winter and no offroad-driving for the old Pajero. Stashed away now, waiting for April when the salt is gone.

1986 Subaru Leone 1.8 GL Turismo Full-Time-AWD

3eyc.jpg

Boxer-engine, frameless-windows, full-time-AWD with dual-range and electronic locking diff.  I own it since November 2011, but have never driven a single mile in it. It was an abandoned project and get´s restored to perfect condition since the day I bought it. It´s a very early model, because the pre-facelift-Turismo (3-door-coupe) was only produced ~ 7 month. The only modification I did was the full-time-AWD-drivetrain from a later Turbo-model. Has to be finished in spring this year.

Kwality old 4x4s there Lukas!

From my original post I still have my Series 1 Land Rover...

Engine out by sparkright, on Flickr

I sold my Series 2a to my best mate who blew the engine (Disco Tdi) up and drove it with a knackered suspension bush, which in turn punched it's way through the knackered chassis. So he took it apart and it sits in his garden.

I also have a Range Rover

27144_10151907646557796_605383595_n.jpg?

It's a late 'soft dash' 300Tdi manual and I love it. It used to be my dad's for 10 years.

My wife has a green mk 3 Polo which is nothing special.

And last but not least, the 900T van. Looking a bit rough when I got it.

900T-1.jpg

But I'm making my way round slowly replacing bad with good...

Photo454.jpg

Until 2 months ago I also had this. A Panda 1000CL ex-Bianca.

PIC_0023.jpg

But when the Sisley arrived it had to go. It had been sat Sorned for 18 months as the sills had turned to weetabix. I was going to repair and sell it on, but in the end I couldn't be bothered so I broke it for spares.

016.jpg

My old shite is exactly the same as when I last posted, except I don't have the Brava any more. After nine years of service I gave it to my sister. It's replacement is a Marea estate - a 2.4 130 JTD. Here it is when I got it 12 months ago...

post-47-0-45945300-1389900191_thumb.jpg

Here it is now. I've put the correct number plates and the correct grill and badge, tidied up the mirror supports and fitted a detachable towbar. It's on Stilo 15" steels at the moment with winter tyres. I'm gonna get the alloys refurbished as they are starting to blister.

post-47-0-81754900-1389900414_thumb.jpg

I also become the owner of this thing as well...

It's got it's own Autoshite thread here... http://autoshite.com/topic/10548-my-next-project-lombardi-850/

They're probably not autoshite in the truest sense, but until fairly recently I had this:

Which I replaced with this:

1239891_10153329669160457_1021303610_n.j

The Alfa cost £1200 and has the ability to swallow up money like nothing I've owned before. Every single bill in it's service history is a bare minimum of £300, usually nearer £500-600. Still, you have to spend it on something don't you!

Daily services are completed by a company focus diesel which is useless.

Some serious quality in this thread. Some wonderful old shite too.

Don't know how you can bear to break a Panda Vin. They're so cute! Really must get around to actually owning one.

^^^^^^WHAT!!!!!! NEED MOAR DATA

1965 (but hung around in the showroom till early '67) Lancia Flavia Pininfarina Coupe. 1.8 flat four with Kugelfisher mechanical fuel injection. Now needs some major bodywork that its co-owner and I need to fund.

Sublime thing to drive with so many modern features for 1965 (door puddle lights, lights on buzzer).

I was going to put this in News 24 but it might as well go here.  Picked this up the other week:  Merc E280 estate.

Mrs WoC and I were after a seven-seat Volvo to replace our b0rked S40, but this came up very locally, so I went and had a cursory look - in the dark - and thought WCPGW?

The seller went up in my estimation when I clocked he had a Pontiac Fiero (non-runner) in his unit.  He also turned up in a Ford Probe when I went back to collect...

Pics may be upside down due to iPhone-me-Photobucket interface fail.

IMG_2521_zps79340583.jpg

IMG_2522_zps2074cbd3.jpg

Front wings are rusty, obvs.

IMG_2524_zps4f0ec4b3.jpg

Mileage is interstellar, rear shocks are b0rked.  Intermittent wiper setting works erm... intermittently.  Needs rear pads and probably discs urgently.  Mot til end of November though.

IMG_2525_zps23453b61.jpg

This picture doesn't do justice to how filthy the interior is.  I must admit I didn't quite realise how bad it was until after I'd bought it.

IMG_2523_zps8d187156.jpg

Parkers claims 197bhp (which is nice) and 24mpg (which is not).  Still, it's a couple of firsts for me;  I've never had a six cylinder or an auto before.

IMG_2526_zpsa64be5ce.jpg

And here it is with it's stablemate.

wings don't look too bad - they will stay like that for quite a while if you keep the shite out of the back of them.    Mileage not necessarily a problem but those shox might be dear.   Like it!

Posted

Cheers Mr Rocker!  I could probably put up with the bounce-bounce-clunk from the back end for a bit, but I deffo need to sort the brakes.  The wings don't look too bad until you get up close;  I think the colour helps in that respect.

Btw if anyone has a handbook or Haynes BOL they would part with for a few beer tokens, I would be very keen to hear from them!

Needs un-lowering* and a Serck plate. (Serck style X looks fab)

*I know it hasn't been lowered, but I was for ever cursing the lack of ground-clearance when I had one.

I was just thinking that this morning coming out of a multistorey I've used in many different cars and never scraped the valance on every ramp before. Do these suffer from saggy springs or summert or were they ‘scened’ from the factory?

Nice lawn.

Thanks, it's me Mam's like, but mine's nearly as green.

We've just re-seeded our back lawn, it's coming up a treat .:-)

Now I just need to find a (non 12-bore) way to stop the neighbourhood cats from shitting on it...

Keep an out of the way (like under a tree or behind the shed or summert) patch of ground turned over and free of vegetation.  They'll crap there instead.

But enough lawn chat, show us UR shite lads.  I'm sure you can do better than me.
