Lottery win autoshite

If I had to pick something rare to add to the fleet the Bricklin SV-1 would be what I'd choose.

No mention yet of the Panther DeVille, which looks like a Bugatti designed by Liberace, with Landcrab doors, making it the default choice for the lottery winning Shiteist.

    1972 Fiat 130 Coupe - Manual

In 1971, Pininfarina designer Paolo Martin introduced the Fiat 130 Coupe. It was one of two large coupés styled by Pininfarina in the 1970s, the other being the Rolls-Royce Camargue.

    Hidden beneath.....

Vanwall GPR V12 for me. They only made one if I remember and they weren't expensive, 50k ish. Why they didn't sell like hotcakes I don't know.

Hey look, yet another car to use those good old CX door mirrors!

Always liked the Venturi - a real shame that it wasn't a seller here.

A lotto win for me would be spent on getting some CX parts (panels, especially) re-manufactured and, where possible, undercutting CX-Basis by as much as possible.

Also, I'd like to have this back:

Er.....that's it.

oh, I'd have a TX as well of course - probably in green like this one. With the optional air conditioning  - or at least get it retro fitted - and daily drive it...

And open a museum dedicated to base models of popular cars.

I've long fancied doing that but geared more towards oddballs as well as once common cars that have all but vanished, such as the FSO Polonez and Skoda Estelle

If I won the triple Euro lottery I would buy a P38 Range Rover from OverFinch,  I might just have enough money to run it for a couple of weeks

Mid 80's Rolls Royce. Immaculate condition inside and out. But fitted with Cummins diesel engine.

Riley RM as my dad used to borrow his boss's one. I remember standing on the running board as my dad drove down our street.

And replace the motorbikes I have just sold because of my move with like for like.

Dammit, Egg beat me to it with a metallic green TX.  However I have something to make ECP’s parts system implode.  Ladies and gentlemen, live from Wales.....it’s a Gilbern Invader

ID like a Ferrari 250GTE please lottery fairy. Gorgeous and understated Cinderella amongst various more attention grabbing prima Donna relatives.

For a very long time fodder for various “recreations” of more expensive brethren chop chop, bin the body. This car paid the bills in period. If was a billionaire I’d buy one of those testarossa/ gto/ LM replicas and turn it back into a 250GTE. In your face Chris Evans.

I would choose a Rolls Royce Camargue and smoke about in it looking like a disgraced light entertainer.

Right to left a 375/4, a Palm Beach convertible and, er, a regular one.

Very, very good choices. I’d probably go for the standard one.

One of these - most reasonable at 18-25k.

Then I would use the rest of the lottery win money to hire the boy who originally built the engine, and the chassis chap. And maybe the brake lad too.

Some good shouts there.  Obviously I would go for this...

There would, of course be the usual selections from Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Jensen , not to mention Cadillac.  But I have another idea for a few weeks later, which may surprise a few people.  My antipathy towards German motors is fairly well-known, but...

Porsche911Targe_022-1.thumb.jpg.d981dd37c8f0123f7da242e41e5a0eec.jpg

An early 70s 911 Targa - has to be a Targa with that lovely rollover hoop, and early 70s to get the slim bumpers and a maximum of 2.4 litres  under the hood.  I'd probably never drive it.  I mean, who in his right mind wants to be seen in a German car?

I think I’d buy a barn and fill it with one of every model of 80s and early 90s Peugeot, with a couple of scruffy doubles for minging winter use.

I have oft said to Mrs_nova that were I to win said lottery to any large degree, I’d buy the (now closed) factory building down the bottom of the village and turn it into my personal car storage/occasional museum where all the exhibits would be either on the road or working towards. In there I’d havea hall of the unloved hero, in which unloved cars such as Yugos, Daewoo Esperos, Skoda Estelles and Reliant Robins would be displayed. No exotica, just good ordinary cars.

In all seriousness I’d also probably get my 9000 nut and bolt rebuilt too. And build a homage car to the original brown Nova which started my driving career.

And maybe I’d daily a Traction Avant

Or go the full Brian Johnson and get one if these...

I like that, it looks a bit like I'd imagine an Austin 3-litre coupe would look like.

Not links, but these would be early on the list:

[Chevette HSR]

[Sunbeam Lotus]

[RS2000]

That reminds me — I’d also have one of these, being more exotic than an RS2000 and having the coolest nosecone of the entire 1970s.

Preferably with the Firenza HP suspension tweaks and twin Dellorto 45s nicked off a Lotus 907.

Mm-mm-mmm.
