Collection thread. Reliable* new car. If I make it there

Off on a collection mission tomorrow.

Transport is this - could be a bad idea, but will take it in stages. It is going to end up somewhere where it will get fixed, so it's a positive move. Albeit not within my ownership, but that may change again by next year. I will get back to R8 ownership again, I'm sure. :(

Yes that's a slice of my homemade cake. It was an experimental Victoria sponge with caramel flavour, that hasn't been well received, so I guess I'll end up eating most of it...

Looks fine to me. I'll have some. Is that coffee or tea with black bits in it?

Coffee, just not stirred properly. Lidl's finest Gold Roast instant.

Aaaah thought it was literally the Soviet/Eastern European way of coffee... Dump a tea spoon of grounds in and just add hot water to the cup. Drink when the grounds settle down.

Something Asian.  You say reliable so it's got to be. Toyota, nissan ,kia, Hyundai, suzuki or maybe even honda. Anything but a lover. Bit of casual racism there for the half asleep amongst us. Good luck with whatever it is.

I'm sure it's tea leaves that are meant to predict stuff, but can anyone else see the grim reaper in the coffee foam?

Joking BTW. Good luck sir.

Off we go.

Poo count 1

Nasty toxic farts - many.

Long suffering girlfriend accompanying me? Check.

Spare water? Yep.

Tools? Also yep.

Auto aid? Of course.

I hoping the asterisk beside reliable isn't ironic and we don't get a Peugeot 307 or something.

I’m going for a reliable car.  Like an e60 automatic with an N47 engine...

Is the coolant cap slightly loose to stop it over pressurising and popping something?

This advice was given to me by the esteemed Mr_Bickle of this Parish … I got home from the arse end of Belgium  like this in the Mercedes we don't talk about.

12 miles in. First issue. I'd put the header tank cap on with holes in it, and it has basically thrown almost all the water out of the top. Filled up 2 litres, just giving it a few mins to cool. I've put the unventilated cap back on and backed off the screw on a hose clip to give it somewhere to vent. Wish me luck.

I hope this is the old broken car, not the new reliable Japanese one

With his luck it wouldn't suprise me.
