The "WTF is that?" thread

A sort of glimpse into an alternative reality where the Allegro and Maestro never happened so BL carried on building the 1100 until 1995 with ever more desperate facelifts.

That is mental.

No offence to anyone who has mental health issues, but the builder was c4azy. In.a good way.

Are they Daihatsu Sirion tail lights? Front end is obviously MK3 Astra

that 'shrunk' 928 few pages back was cool...and I actually loved the Cortina/escort, almost factory ...

That 1100 is frankly amazing and all those disparate parts have no right working together so smoothly.  Even if it's made of 95% pure Isopon, that's still a serious bit of craft to get that looking  as unshonky as it does.

We need a puking emoji. That's up there with those awful "vintage" wedding cars and delivery vans that were everywhere in the 90's

Is that a Sunbeam Rapier from Thunderbirds?  Or maybe Parker's own car for when he fucks off home after filming's finished? Or maybe some sort of 1980s Lancia Beta based kit car with ingenious covering panels? A most impressive mode of transport, I want one.  It has indicators on top of the front wings too.

Isn't that just a Volga with horrible things done to the front and the back? Definitely shite either way.

Reminds me of the Vanden Plas 1500, the one based on the Allegro.

This amazing lash-up was made from two 125cc motorcyles welded together. The guy allegedly used it for several years, even giving it a snazzy facelift with lights off a Fiat 1300 before the police made him take it off the road.

It looks like what would result from a Field of Dreams breeding program involving Six-cylinder's Vanden Plah Allegro and Lancia Gamma.

Loads of these in Prague in use as tourist traps. They're all really unsafe, apparently. Badly maintained and broken.

Should I ever visit Prague it's nice to know my transport needs can be easily met.

A customised Granada Cardinal hearse. All pretty normal from here...

Oh, okay, it's a Capranada! A difficult transplant, especially as the Granada is significantly wider than the Capri, and nicely done but it does seem to be an entirely pointless exercise. Dead weird.
