Yes, I've thought about the Fairlane and it's similar, but the grill isn't.

Grill looks the same apart from the shadow of the chap standing in front of it.

I hadn't thought of that because it looked to me like a black metal part in the middle of the grill, but you may be right that it's just the driver's shadow.

I'm an idiot.

Fairlane?

Yep.  1964 Fairlane, to be precise.

So, my Dad lives in Romania and spotted this in Lidl the other morning when he was doing his shopping. Any ideas?

There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of information out there, but it's an Italian microcar called a "Town Life". It was designed by Tonino Lamborghini (son of Ferruccio) and produced by his company between 2000 and 2008.

The particular model appears to be the "Ferruccio Junior" judging off of sale listings.

Looks like it should be on a golf course.

I have no idea but I do know that wheel isn't going to fit it.

They've always had four, one in the boot.

5, one on the column too. It's not an Invacar!

There's a hint of Reliant Regal in the bonnet, otherwise it looks like a cross between a Mark 1 Fiesta and a Volvo 300 series to me!

Any idea what the maroon car is? We're in Manchester and I guess it's the late '50's or early '60's. It looks a bit Vauxhally to me, but without the scallops in the bonnet.

I'm getting fairly strong Eastern Bloc vibes. Diddy little air cooled engine in the back.

What's this land barge? It looks British but appears to have a dolphin mascot (although these are replaceable) rather than the usual. We're in Times Square, Noo Yoik, 1948.

I think it's a 1948 Shaguar 3.5.

Maybe a dolphin or the cat leaper - difficult to tell.

Presumably a new model under test with the usual camouflage. Possibly the new electric Cortina - the Ecortina?

If we got together and designed a car I reckon it would look something like this.

We’d need to be flush to afford it.

It's a kit car - based on the Ford Capri I think but I can't think of the name.
