Exactly the gearbox it should have!  Shame about the horrible non-colour though.

Even in that disastrous paint, I'd rather spend 8k on this than the turd that replaced it... and as for what replaced that...!  Even giving 007 a late one couldn't salvage it.

Flipping heck that is cheap. Needs a clutch but how hard is that on an old van? (Not very). 

@eddyramrod needs to make this into a camper. 

As an aside, it's in Leyland, so perhaps it's been permanently broken since manufacture

I hadn't clicked the ad, so didn't spot it being a V8.  Damn, where can I lay hands on £1200?

The only good diesel Ford made (roughly of that era) was the 2.5Di. It was probably too late for and maybe never have slotted in the Cortina, and the other diesels they had were fucking rubbish. It's (very) good thing they never fitted them to the Cortina, imho.

Probably one of the worst financial decisions I’ll ever make, but unless I move on with another car I’ll be schlepping around in this old jalopy for years - and whilst I don’t care, the missus would, bless her. Life is short and the new fiver, which will  probably ruin me with a bad turn, is glam as **** and she feels right special in it with its soft close doors.  Poor old Volvo is an amazing car, but isn’t glam. Wish I could just box it up and keep for Armageddon.

It'll make a cracking car for someone. £500 is an absolute steal. If it wasn't so far away I'd have bought it myself!

Ought to list it here, If you put it up for a roffle at £10 a ticket I would buy one for sure!
