Why? What is it for? Some sort of farming task?

I think there's still a Fairey capstan winch fitted to it? Could be a 'method' for directing a rope onto the winch drum without using the roller*

*fun fact, the roller, well - it rolls. Really useful when you are unbolting a bonnet mounted spare whilst standing on the bumper. Ask me how I know....

No connection with the seller , but seems a decent old bus for pin money. Just needs a bloody good clean inside and out.

Paging @dollywobbler for some cheap content. Also @sutty2006 as think your mate was after some transport

Thanks!

I gave up trying to negotiate that website

Also extremely useful if you ever feel that you have too many fingers 😱

No idea, I just thought it looked a bit like a pyramid. If anything it would have got in the way of the Capstan Winch as I’m sure from when my dad used them you had to loop the rope around a couple of times and keep tension on the end of the rope (opposite end of what your pulling) otherwise the drum wouldn’t grip the rope and just spin, this is going from memory though

@Kiltox @Dave_Q

You'll need a trailer. And winch.  And probably some new swear words.

Assuming the battery etc is ok, maybe it's worth £600?

Must be pretty rare now.

Would have no real clue, but sounds like bollocks to me looking  at it. May also beg the question why they didn't have it MOT'd.

'Old Man Emu lift'

Probably wouldn't mention that, M8. Didn't end well for Rod Hull.

The 4.7 V8 will not tolerate poor maintenance or the wrong spec oil, from what I remember the sump capacity is also on the small side,

they go really well otherwise

Hm.  My new improved*laptop doesn't have any right-click function, so I can't add photos.  However, I already have one!
