Cripes, back when I was driving mk4’s and 5’s (sorry, Cortina 80’s) that would have been a 400-700 car depending on the rest of the rusty bit. And I’m only talking 2008-2011 ish here. 
The on the road t&t’d early mk5 I later sold to @Rustybullethole was I think 400 quid.
All These RWD fords have gone the way of Yamaha Elsie’s (RD350LC) have in the bike world

It's past it in my opinion. There isn't a straight or non-rusty panel on it! Spares only, you'd spend £10k putting that right - may as well just buy a good one.

While I do sort of agree, look at the window line and especially the C pillars.  These are two different styles, most likely from two different coachbuilders.  I'd happily drive either.

yeah I've seen it at shows a couple of times. Not had a thorough look around it but it seemed decent. I do think 3500 is a bit steep perhaps so interesting to see if it goes

I remember this was for sale years ago at the back of Tatton Park near Knutsford.
