That green Dolomite is really nice innit. A few little bits of bodywork to sort but it looks an honest old thing. I'm sure he ought to be able to get a logbook for it though eh, can't really blame the covid thing now for that.

This car if mint would fetch £15k..
So even if you won it for £4k spent 6k on it ot would be a cheap RS!!
YES 99p for a car worth a potential £15,000 once restored ? ??.

Didn't even go to the effort of rounding off the arches.

Anyone wants a pope-mobile knock-off?

Furious driving just made a video on this:

Good video, thoroughly enjoyed watching it as I do like William Towns' designs from the Aston Martin DBS to this.

This is a sad old thing, only £395 though!!!! 1700 AUTO - must be well slow and thirsty, the manuals are bad enough

A 1700 auto in the same colour just went for £3500 on eBay - seemed like slight madness but if mine's worth anywhere near that I'll be very happy!  It looked very tidy bar a small ding on the back but the listing suggested it needed some vague and undisclosed work.  I did think that seeing as @vulgalour said his 1700 manual is no ball of fire, the auto must be pretty sedate.

If I had room that'd be coming home to me for the interior if nothing else.

That's an impressively crispy Princess.  Reasonable donor car for awkward bits of trim, glass, and interior, certainly too far gone for restoration with A pillar rot that extensive.  Auto 1700s are really rare and are slightly faster than continental drift, or so I have been told.

If you have a current V5 then the on-line service is still great, but if you don't have a log book and then have to apply (by post) for one, it's taking absolutely forever. Got to be 3 months minimum since I applied for one, rumours are of people saying 4 months or more for theirs and still no sign of it.

Sounds like the people who normally do that job haven't come back to the office, because they don't feel ready because Covid risk.

Maybe October or after, I'm thinking.

Additional thought: Possibly even next year, given the second (and third) spikes we'll inevitably be getting.

Drove perfectly from the bottom of the ocean where it'd been since 1978 to that spot by the looks of it.

'I’m tempted to think this kit may never or seldom have been opened in its life'

I'm tempted top think you're a bit of a nutter.

Benidorm pays emotional tribute to late star Bobby Knutt - Birmingham Live

I've a picture of the (late) Bobby Knutt in that very shirt posed with Mrs BMH in Benidorm in March 2017. He only lived about three miles from us.

Oh, cars, yes those Escorts were shite.

I've had two done by post in the past couple of months.  First one exactly 3 weeks, second one a couple of days longer.  Pretty much what I would have expected in pre-Covid days really!
