eBay tat volume 3.

What a shame the Sokol has got into the hands of a typical Dubber who has done the all-important job of junking the engine and replacing it with a wheezy VW lump and lowering the whole thing to a stupid degree, and then butchering the electrics. Totally out of keeping and inappropriate.

That thing has been on and off eBay as long as I can remember. It was Sir John Whitmore who made the first effort to save it, I think, but no subsequent owners have had much luck getting it to work. I'd say it was about 75% less likely to ever go back on the road after the last owner's efforts. Great work man!

That Sokol must have been some weapon when if it all worked.  Look at the electronics inside the door.  In fact, everywhere,

It's been in the very thread before

^ Was he the car-builder's son who did the electronics? This sort of period electronics is interesting, it would be good to see more info on the quirky stuff he built for that car.

Edit, I just read the Bonhams article, (see link in flat4alfa's post above), John Tatar would be the original builder's grandson.

Interesting links indeed.

The want is strong but no MOT, sadly,. I wish sellers would stick em in as I cannot see this needing much - barely used in last few years. £450 BINS Sarfend

I’d have gone for a full price mot as I’m sure the cheaper places find things that need doing.

Is your riser dry? Fancy getting it wetter than an otter's pockets? Then simply buy this and drive round town at 3.00am

1244cc and aircon which I guess means no carburettor and no pushrods. Shame.

"it was run weekly until it stopped working"

Curiously, no mention of rust in the MOT history.

I had one just like this. It wasn't very good. I'd have another. Not at £2.5k though.

'I SPENT £1.229 ON A TOP ENGINE REBUILD'

Says something about 'Hunters and chasers' on the roof though, so possibly belonged to some fox hunting twats.

.Take that 'parents are only taxis for their kids' expression one further embarrassing step nearer to reality and rock up in this outside your kid's school
