Industry of Machinery and Tractors (IMT) (Serbian: IMT - Industrija maÅ¡ina I traktora a.d. Beograd/ИМТ - ИндуÑтрија машина и трактора а.д. Београд) is a producer and vendor of tractors and agricultural machinery, situated near Belgrade, Serbia. Most popular type of IMT tractors was IMT 533 (with 35 hp) and IMT 539 (40 hp). These tractors become popular in Yugoslavia, because they were easy for maintenance, easy to handle, manoeuvrable, rotatable. Popularity is resulted by spreading of mechanisation and (that time) modern technology on rural parts of country. Later model was produced in 1965. It was IMT 555. Reliable of these three types is in characteristics of the engine. These engine could stand for 4,000 working hours to the general repair.

that Scab 99 is a 2 door saloon, and I'm pretty certain that all 99's were saloons.

 

I think the hatch back scab didn't arrive before the 900 was launched

Reminds me of my old red one, but that was a K-plate and had a few extra go faster goodies like body coloured spoiler and those 7 spoke alloys they used to do. Didn't find the 1.8 CVH to be as bad as some say and it felt pokey enough despite being an auto.

Why is there a tow bar attachment on the front? Is it normal to tow backwards in a land rover?!

You can get more maneuverability in confined spaces with the steering wheels nearest the load - a lot of static caravans are sited this way.
