I had a kia clarus years ago, which is the same basic car (a late 80s 626 clone, like some versions of the hyundai sonata). It was okay. Very thirsty 2.0 - less than 20mpg around town, but considering the engine is basically the same as 2.0 zetec in the mondeo (a joint yamaha/mazda design originally) it actually pulled better than the 2.0 mundano I had a bit later on. I got fed up with my clarus because it kept destroying drive shafts and even 626 one's didn't fit. I sold it on ebay with an add explaining that both driveshafts were very rumbly, a guy came down from oxford and drove it away at 20mph top whack!

 

My favourite bit (I used it to go to work 60 mile round trip and as a hackney carriage on weekends), was the aeroplane style bong-bong-bong when the doors were open with the lights on.

 

A decent giffer motor, but very, very 80s in feel.
