PS the last time I saw a Demm was the one I purchased from my neighbour and sold to a mate. That was a Demm Dove.

Lots of 'upgrades' but nothing much about the engine. After the BMC merger these got the Austin A-Series in 803cc form and were still painfully slow.

It was not until 1956 that the bigger engine arrived. Lots of cars are retro-fitted as the original engines wore out.

Why?  It just looks like primer then lacquer.

I'd say it would not make an excellent first classic . There are a number of issues with these that are not for beginners - probably put anyone off as a first car. One for the more seasoned enthusiast IMHO.

Left hand drive. First registered in 1968, so that was probably when it came back to the UK. At that time cars just got the current registration letter when imported irrespective of age.
