has always been a memorable car to me because AIE701 is an *Irish* as republic of Ireland (not Northern ireland) registration mark, thats managed to end up on the DVLA

screencapture-vehicleenquiry-service-gov-uk-VehicleFound-2023-06-24-01_04_09.thumb.png.73c07b4ebf99061940a31c11d940b9d8.png

before 1986 when everyone over there was still on buff logbooks you could take a car from the ROI to the UK and the local authorities and later DVLC would allow you to keep the ROI mark,

a very rare (if not only?) case where a car going between different countries would be allowed to keep the same registration mark

(which goes back to the fact that the Pre 1986 Irish VRM system was a continuation of the British system introduced there in 1904, so cars bearing said marks where sort of grandfathered in, but after 1986 that allowance came to end, or at least so its said, but the. Buff logbook to V5 scheme never did technically end in NI, so I do wonder if you can still get an old pre 1986 ROI registration mark that way)

Nice, almost all of the Abarths were lumbered with selespeed. Must pretty miserable if they've only done 15k on it though.

Despite what I might have once said about Iv*cos being shit, these are 100% THE worst and most horrible vans ever made.

I'd actually consider voting Conservative if they promised to send all Ford Escorts from 1990 onwards to Rwanda.

Not sneering at this because it could be a good buy for someone: 2002 (late reg madness) 1.6 Puma for £1000 in Bedfordshire I think

Ulez free too.

Wonder if the 1.6 (and 1.4) are a bit disappointing to drive? Have only piloted a 1.7 which was such a laugh it's hard to imagine the others being anywhere near as much fun.

They're not bad really,  revvy Yamaha engines so good fun. 1. 7 has variable valve witchcraft so feels pokey.

1980 Suzuki ZR50S X1 50cc moped tax and mot exempt. | eBay

Must be mega rare now and equally as slow as an MBX50 and the like. Also, the seat looks pretty handy as if a bus broke down you could take 23 of the passengers on the back.
