As an old Opel and rally perv I'm fairly sure the Ascona/Manta 400 engine was a special built on a diesel block.

Has that had replacement seats? I always find seats with a different colour and material to the door card fabric look like they’ve been swapped over.

Peugeot had a habit of putting leather in with cloth door cards, the late 405 Executive also had this.

They're definitely early 406 seats, they changed the seat design quite soon after to that rippled leather.

He sounds a bit like me lol. I think the guy just wants the motor gone without hassle. Realises as much as he hates ebay it's possibly the best place. Although he doesn't want to tolerate or except ebay idiots of which there are many.

Unfortunately ebay/gumtree/facebook turns you into a person like this.

He's just waiting for the right 1 or 2 buyers and has to play the game.

The 1.3 ohc was only available in the Sierra for the UK cortinas always had the 1.3 crossflow the taunus had it though.

The Opel manta/ascona 16v was as said based on the stronger diesel block.
