That DAX Cobra should be on a Q plate in it's current state it is illegal by a country mile, giving it the Aston's chassis number is naughty to say the least, especially running it on historic tax, when it does not qualify at all, and is worth far less than a restored DBS would be, and those stupid flared arches look shit

Yawn, another Cobra replica. What's it got in it, a 2.0 efi pinto or a wheezy Rover v8 on SU's?

Nope

I quote :::: This Dax Cobra is based on an Aston Martin DBS V8 and has been built to a high standard. The engine and the chassis number is from an Aston Martin and the registration document still shows it as an Aston Martin DBS. Please note that the chassis is a DAX chassis.

Now I don't understand the ins and outs of IVAs and SVAs and V5s but it seems dodgy to have a DAX chassis with an Austin Martun Chassis number (does he mean VIN???)

So I reckon I'd rather bet 35k on Red Rum winning next years Grand National than expect no issues ever with the DVLA.

Are any of these vans Auto and/or have cruise control ??

I don't think so.The MG Express had the 1.4 petrol,1.8 VVC petrol,or 2.0 diesel. The Rover Commerce had the 1.4 petrol or 2.0 diesel. The cars the vans were based on,could have the semi-auto box with a 1.6 engine in the Rover,or the non VVC 1.8 in the MG.I don't think any of this shape MG or Rover had cruise control, could be wrong though.

WTF even is this? Clearly they made and sent at least two over here as a white one has died to enable this blue-y purple one live another day (though the rust is deeply impressive), plus a generous spares package and a great deal of spiders

I had its predecessor - basically the same van but 2wd and with a 665cc 2-cylinder engine at the back.  It was quite a fun thing in its own way.  I'd be tempted by that Sumo if it weren't so rusty - the 4x4s got the 1200 3-pot from the Justy which was a canny little engine.

Edit: just done an online check on my old one and it ran out of MOT on Saturday, so it's obviously been in use since I sold it.

That's a lot of funeral action.

To be fair he's had a bit of a go at seeing what else works and £200 has to be worth a punt.

Who was it who was after a cheap Transit-sized van up north?

Will probably need plenty of welding for a test though, because Sevel Sud, and it's a 1.9 NA diesel so will make a DW8-powered Dispatch feel like a dragster.

I had a couple of Probes too! Not as good as the Cougar, wallowy to drive and slow in 2.0 form, plus mechanics seemed terrified of them, particularly the V6.

This was my first one, still think they're a good looking car. Ugly interiors though. They seem all but extinct now, cant remember the last time I saw one.

I'm not a huge fan of probes (ahem), but I always thought Ford Europe missed a trick by covering up the centre of it's nose. It's the best bit of it's styling, but only the yanks got to see it. An Alfa offset plate would look miles better.
