Best scrap-a-car website?

I have a shitroen picasso, that is now very surplus to my requirements. Question is, who do you guys use to get rid of cars that just plain aren't worth saving? i've got a quote of 145 from motorhog.

It's definitely just crusher fodder, the whole thing is very much fucked, it lost a wheel on a motorway and i'm pretty certain at least the disc is buggered...plus the thing has been a miserable piece of shit its entire existence so i'll be more than happy to see it cubed and sent away to be turned into something useful, like a kitchen pan or something.

https://www.motorwise.com/

given a good price for the old Micra ,,,    over a 120 notes !!

and they certified and erased from memory that Meriva for me ....

Ditto on these guys - their price for the 45 was much better than the others. Good reviews about quick payouts (in the end my neighbour scrapped the car for me for the same price Motorwise offered)

I've used cartakeback before and they were excellent. Good price and painless pick up. I'd plundered the motor but as long as it was on four wheels they didn't mind.

cartakeback seem to be winning at the moment with 148 quid, removemycar looks interesting, with the auction option...apparently picassos are going for 160 quid on that.

I might just go with cartakeback and take as much off as possible before sending it to the slow boat to china.

Cheers all!

If its diesel the cat may be worth scrap price alone

FYI, I'm getting paid by cheque tomorrow for my Mondeo (went via removemycar, cos I'm lazy). They took a tenner off because no battery, fair enough. I've had my new bits back off it.

Just out of curiosity, where are you located and what engine is it please?

It's a 2004.

number plate is bf54tuv if you want a looksie at the history, ontop of all that shite, the gearbox leaks very very slowly i've had to top it up once in 3 years. I'll also be stealing the battery for my other car, because i dropped 120 quid on a new halfords battery when i was left stranded by the old one deciding it wasn't going to play.

Ring up the breakers directly.

I’ve found randomly enough using one of those websites you actually get more money than going direct to the breaker, even though you end up taking it to the same breaker!

My mate is definitely interested. He knows the site so will be popping in for a look.

It’s the opposite for me, I usually use Deatons Metals at Staveley, always get best price from them plus unlike Moronhog they don’t start whinging if the car isn’t complete.

Wells and Moorhouse at Meltham gave me a decent price on my old Omega, going back a few years that though.
