twosmoke300 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 You can test them pretty well. You can download an app from Luk that will tell you the specs to test it and all the torque figures Luk dmf check point
SiC Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Probably is on a 1.9JTD. They're not known for their long DMF life. But I think you can measure the play? I know the garage I use did on my Civic when they did the clutch. Said it was absolutely fine and I put another 50k ish on without a problem.
SiC Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 How do I measure, or what part do I measure on this fixing to check if it's 1/4 inch BSP or 1/2 inch BSP? (Or something else)
twosmoke300 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 That’s not bsp- it’s orfs . O ring flat seal Do you have a pirtec or a john Deere dealer nearby ( JD love orfs pipes) Think they are a metric thread
twosmoke300 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Yup 2000 onwards they are available in FWD and RWD . Both rusty shitboxes with terrible engines tho Lacquer Peel and Nicola H 2
SiC Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Damn. Amazon reviewers told lies. Explains the supplied fibre washers. There is a pirtex dealer not that far away. Not sure when they open, Google says 24/7 and so does their website. Surely that can't be correct?! I need to convert this to either 1/8" or Schrader valve. My original intention was to attach a Schrader 556 coupler to the end of that pipe.
twosmoke300 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Orfs doesn’t usually use fibre washers tho . The male end usually has a groove machines into it that an o ring sits in . Could be some Micky mouse chinese non conformist shit like those rubbish airlines you get with diy compressors
SiC Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Probably. The pump and pipe was under 30quid, so I'm not going expecting too much. Only has to be able to pump to around 400psi reliably and safely (haha). I'm trying to put one of these:https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323340680751 On like this: Without it pissing liquid everywhere.

You can download an app from Luk that will tell you the specs to test it and all the torque figures Luk dmf check point Thanks for that. The original is Valeo not LUK but I'm sure the play will be more or less the same. I've found a new set for £215, is that suspiciously cheap? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clutch-set-and-flywheel-VALEO-837039-FIAT-MULTIPLA-1-9-JTD-from-04-99/153040733102?epid=22017015627&hash=item23a1f043ae%3Ag%3ATeYAAOSw9gRaTOvC&_sop=15&_sacat=0&_nkw=valeo+dmf+kit+1.9+jtd&_from=R40&rt=nc

Exiled_Tat_Gatherer Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Welder - it's always just fired up and ran without issue other than the bloody user..... Turns on ok - fan blasting around as per..... Not a bloody thing when I pull the trigger though.Opened up the trigger and the usual 2 spade connnectors but also a pale blue wire dong sod all. Is it supposed to?I was so annoyed I forgot pics. Any hing else I should check on a Clarke 205 Turbo mig? First time I've opened the thing apart from wire jams...... totally lost!

Simonsays Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Any easy ways to find where my aircon system is leaking?Something to do with a UV light and special glasses iirc. Doubtless more knowledge folk than me can elaborate

DVee8 Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Modern car question. After a 130 miles trip this morning l parked up.On return there was a wet patch on the ground under the passenger side door and water dripping from a rubber tube. Could this be a overflow for the Aircon? All levels checked and ok. This was clear water no antifreeze. Any ideas? OH Nissan x-trail 64 plate.

twosmoke300 Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Yep, most SWB are FWD MWB available as both LWB generally RWD also allows a factory AWDGarage round the front from me do work for a delivery fleet of transits . One came in for a clutch , young lad grabs the job card smiling . Easy job and bread n butter for them . Wasn’t smiling so much when he put it up in the air and saw it was an awd one ! I didn’t realise they did a 2000 onwards one if I’m honest . Bastard of a job now tho , whole front subframe out , massive transfer box in the way . HahahahahaLooked no different from a normal van outside either , not like the old smiley counties . Wonder why a parcel delivery company even had one in cornwall
Lacquer Peel Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Ex-utility company maybe? I've driven one, the extra traction is useful on unpaved tracks and in the snow but they're no off roader. Nicola H 1
twosmoke300 Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Still has oily bits with county written on tho ! Lacquer Peel 1

My original intention was to attach a Schrader 556 coupler to the end of that pipe.In answer to my question the pipe is a 1/4" BSP fitting based on the fact that a 1/4" BSP airtool connector screwed into it. I believe the actual connector is a BSPP and not BSPT. Similar but not the same. The Schrader fitting appears to be a 1/8" NPT. Closely similar to a 1/8" BSPT but much more different to a 1/8" BSPP. According to Google...
Lacquer Peel Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 What's this Princess Diana mobile worth? Out of MOT, the hood leaks a little, that interior. 1.8 20v, manual, drives fine. It's near Aviemore if anyone wants it.
Guest Hooli Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Any easy ways to find where my aircon system is leaking? a) get it refilled with dye so that under UV light you can see stains where it is leaking 2) hold the car under water till you see bubbles DeeJay, binhoker668, Scruffy Bodger and 4 others 7
Guest Hooli Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Or even iii) leak detect spray. it makes a googey coating over whatever you spray it on so you can see bubbles appear. But I doubt you'd be able to see all the joints/pipework to make this work.
Guest Hooli Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Might work, the stuff I've seen in a spray is more gooey so you get nice big easy to see bubbles from slight leaks before they burst.
Talbot Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Any easy ways to find where my aircon system is leaking? Garage near me pressurises the system with nitrogen to find leaks. Seems to work too, as nitrogen is a lot cheaper than R134a, and you can then check over the entire system until you find where it's pissing out.
