One I should really know the answer for... the seller of the Kia has not sent the log book off or if he has, it has got lost. So, how do I get a new V5 in my name and is it going to cost me loads of dosh from DVLA?

Form V62 from a Post Office, will be free if you have the green new keeper slip, £25 if not. 

 

 

Can somebody please look at this ebay listing and tell me how far it says it is from your house?

It is coming up as <5 miles for me when I search by nearest, but the location just says "UK" and the sellers address is in Hong Kong.

I suspect that ebay are letting them pay to appear close by when in fact the stuff is being posted from Hong Kong.

Phone the dvla and they should be able to tell you if a change of keeper has been done.

They won't into details but in the past they've told me if a change has been done....

I'm getting a lot of white smoke from both exhausts on the Scimitar when it gets hot (Essex V6, each bank has separate exhaust). No smoke in-between 'just started' and 'hot'.

 

It might be 'losing' water but it also leaks so its hard to tell. Oil consumption seems reasonable considering age.

 

What do people think? Inlet gasket, head gaskets, something else?

Yes that's what the seller's address shows for me. What I probably should have asked is, if you search for "motorcycle indicators" on ebay and sort by nearest first, do you get the same seller showing up as nearest?

I've splashed out an extra pound on some that are located in Preston - much more trustworthy.

They tend to work the takeaway delivery circuit in their final days so look for shagged suspension etc. Engines I don't think will ever stop if they're serviced

Who has the Autoshite bike ex-Bo11ox Rover 220SLi these days?  Haven't seen it pop up in a while.

 

The fine steed is currently in my care and is proving to be a little gem over 3k I've done in it , Powertrain by Bollox plaque is on the dash!

 

I have only replaced the heater knob and a tiny piece of missing trim but it needs a bit of a tart up on the bodywork so I'm on the lookout for 2 front wings in white and will be getting some grey and white paint made up to do the sill's/arches. It's MOT is due in October so I'll service it and go over it ahead of that and try to get it through.  I have the extensive history file previous keepers and will add to it

I wouldn't base assumed insurance premiums on cubic capacity, my Volvo with 2.5 litres and double the power was cheaper to insure than a Xsara 1.9D.

 

Those Yarises are good cars but rust a bit, nothing to worry about with a longish MOT though.

Yaris turned out to be a time waster. I rang up to be told come over at 5pm. I've told everyone else to come then too. First one to hand me money gets car. Thanks but no thanks. Eyeing up a corsa 1.0 on a 03 reg with a weeks mot on it or the local garage has a 1.8 Mondeo on a w plate with a religious sill but has towbar and mot till Feb for 250
