Oh come on... it’s just passed the MOT. Waiting for the reply to say the MOT will be bent, the tester will have put his livelihood on the line for £20 stuffed in his pocket to pass it.

It does look good but put it this way, it’s on at scrap value, worst case scenario and it shits it’s clutch on the way home you haven’t lost anything.

I scrap stuff now because I’ve not got the time for fannying around with people who really shouldn’t be buying cheap cars. Last car I had for sale at £400, the guy that turned up wanted some money knocking off as there was some trim missing from the base of the bumper and the parcel shelf had seen better days, I’m not talking £20-50 off it. Because of these ‘faults’ he wanted it for £200. I decided then I could save myself the time, effort and irritation of dealing with that by weighing the fuckers in now for much the same money.

Fair enough points on all sides gents. Can we just breathe a little and take a step back.

Thanks,

Sam.

These cars drive so well, loved my 120. As mentioned above with the scrap value just now it's almost free!

Serious question, has anyone managed to get one of these on classic insurance? I know it’s a bit young but some makes seem able to escape that a bit. I would love to save it but getting quotes of £390 for insurance kills it :-(

Now you spend your time and effort getting irritated on other people's behalves, it seems.

My ZT-T is also a 52-plate and FJ quoted that on classic, so I'd assume this would be fine

The 101.

You mean it's not the 180bhp V6? With only 12, not 13 months MOT? And you want £150 for that? Fuck off.

I've always fancied one of these, if you can drive it to Hednesford WS 12, 38 miles I'll have it, will also pay your fuel costs. Can't collect myself at the moment, due to no spare time and other excuses before January.

Shame we don't operate under old VED Rules, could have asked for 12 Months tax on it thrown in, as opposed to just taxed to get you home.

What it’s not taxed then for £150 fucking quid!!! Where’s Dominic Littlewoods number?

I take it you never read my landrover thread then,

Landie failed on rust and chassis crack then two days later passed the mot and I now have it complete with still cracked chassis and never ever seen a welder.

Yes I guess your right the tester wouldn't dream of risking his livelihood.

Nice colour this, what's it called and What is tractor syndrome?

I’m guessing red5 put this through a MOT and doesn’t use a bent tester, being an upstanding type of chap.

Can someone just buy it already :D

Trophy blue. Pump injection advance solenoid fails leaving injection timing excessively advanced (early)

It clatters, like a tractor.

Just at idle or throughout the rev range? If it’s just at idle it’s not much of a problem anyway is it? My V70 sounds like a tractor at tickover but fine 100 revs more and up.

Idle is fine. Rest is claaaaaatter

aah, see why it needs a tickle then. Still nothing major though.

Nope. Rad out, pipes off, solenoid in and out. As per guide. Rest is trim etc.

I don't know any bent mot testers but have been amazed by some cars that have passed and others that look immaculate and have shitloads of money thrown at them and yet they fail every year , quite often in the same mot station , so an enquiry about a floorpan seemed like quite a valid question.... obviously not to some !

Posted

Jeez, let it rest, it’s a bargain at £150. Effectively free when you take scrap value into consideration. Red5 could makes as much/ more money by bridging it and have zero hassle. We need to be grateful that there are people on here who would rather save a car like this by offering it stupidly cheap.

The floorpan advisory is quite common for these cars, it sounds bad but isn't that bad.

I have been on the lookout for an L series motor but I don't fancy any car jobs at all just now, even topping up the washer fluid is a chore. GLWTS, it's practically free FFS!

How long do you reckon the rad hose will take to turn up? I can have this to shut up the bickering but might not be able to collect immediately given I might be moving house VERY SOON
