Cheers Stanky! I'll give the supplying dealer a call and see if they can help.

Supplying dealer worse than useless. [Heads over to Grumpy thread]

that is frustrating - did they want £££ for the service, or just not have the info? What about a different radio from a breaker, hopefully with the code written on top with tippex?

I've been given a code by someone from the French Forum Auto, but it starts with a 4 and as far as I can tell the codes for this PF1 unit always start 0 or 1. I'm now scouring Facebook for Citroen groups with someone who knows about these things...

So 0418 isn't a goer?

Done more digging. Another Calc with various algos for comparison, serial enter minus letters and first digit dropped:

Both those match the first standard calc.

Now with Citro algos 1, 2 and 3:

You're saying the one you have been given is Cit algo 1 beginning with a four? Comparing with another calc, Cit algo 2 would appear to be a 0 or 1 start, as does 3.

So first I'd go with 0101 and second, 0136

Blaupunkt PF 1 (A / B )

After turning on the power, the display will show "COD".
Press any station switch button, "000" will be displayed on the display.
Enter 4 digits of the code with the "1 - 4" buttons. The first digit can be "1" or "0", the rest from 0 to 9.

Ooh. I think I downloaded this a few weeks ago, but took fright at its apparent complexity and haven't tried it yet. I'll have a blat later, am at pub, no guarantee I'll be capable of trying out codes until mornning. Oh, and I think the units gone into "leave switched on for an hour between code attempts" mode.

Shit me look at all those bits! Why isn't there a place like that for Fiestas? (yeah I know why)

Anyway no help at all with the nut thing :-)

its a rivnut? part number ADU2038

looking on youtube it seems that these are best put in using some special tool, does anyone have one which i could borrow or buy?

They brand it as a Nutsert, same sort of thing as a Rivnut, they are both rivet type nuts. Installing them is similar to pop riveting, but whilst finding a cheap pop riveter is easy, finding one with the imperial threaded wotsits for rivet nuts is harder.

So you have two choices. Go metric and use a M5 rivnut and get a cheapy rivnut gun or just get the appropriate 3/16" UNF(?) bolt, nuts, washer, spanners and three hands and do this:

OFFERED for FREE.  If you can collect it.

XUD9T engine and BE3/5 gearbox.  I think this came from a 1994 Pug405, about 7-8 years ago.  Has been sat in my Parents' relatively not-too-wet barn for pretty much all of those 7 years.

Intercooler missing, but otherwise a complete engine and box.  Has Bosch pump, complete with alternator, starter and probably a sump full of 8-year-old oil.

LD7 postcode area.  Access is a bit interesting, but not impossible by any means.  Pics when I can find a working USB-micro-B cable, although if you're seriously considering this, I'm fairly sure you know what one looks like.

Could deliver at cost.  Just not sure when.

Hi I'm looking for a replacement sunroof for my 1998 fiat Punto 60 team. My first car even though I'm 46, lifelong biker. It's served me well getting me through my test and even though it seems to provoke hatred amongst the neighborhood (all leasing brand new SUV s@#t boxes) I've become very attached to the blue poo. It hasn't leaked yet but the frame is rotting and it's only a matter of time. Please help anyone out there with a replacement let me know. Thank you.

Odd one from my dad... He wants 4 steel wheels with tyres. Their to build a gate post or something so scrap tyres are fine.

Anyone near Peterborough/holbeach with 4 steels taking up space? If you see this this weekend I'll come and fetch them!

I have a requirement for 5m of car wiring cable in 10 colours. Has anyone got reels of cable in lots of colours that they could snip some off of? I'm happy to pay for it but ordering short lengths of lots of cable (rather than miles of one colour) is a right chore.

ideally something like 0.2mm 6amp wire ought to be plenty. Its to wire up some stuff on the Geep, I'm going to remake the loom. doing this with all one colour will work, but be massively short-sighted.

Nutsert/Rivnut - same thing, I've a feeling that Rivnut is a trade name - possibly of Avdel who is (or was years ago) the standard name brand for the setting tool for these things. As you say, I think you'll struggle to get imperial ones, only seen metric in recent times. As it's just a mirror, I'd go metric of a similar size.

ebay sells cheapish setting tools, about £15, often come with a few nutsert included.

I guess not,but worth asking, must be roadworthy and not auto,MK1 or 2 and sensible price, not after any showcar just something presentable and abit of fun,not to bothered about colour but prefer pre 74.

there is a blue MK1 some where about Formby / Southport , pretty tidy bodywork .inner front wings are good ,  insides well used ,   I will keep an eye out for it

If there is a club for these cars and you are planning on keeping it a longish time, there are usually a few cars for sale through those circles which are never offered to the wider public.

I’ve owned my 2000 for 6 years now having bought it from our very own Cheggars, I’d wanted one for many years and had come close to obtaining one on several occasions but it never quite coming off, but I’m very pleased I’ve got one now, they are great cars to own and enjoy.

They have survived in reasonable numbers despite the best efforts of the banger boys throughout the 1980’s/90’s and there’s nearly always at least one example on eBay, in fact there’s a good looking ‘71 manual overdrive on there now.....

I’d definitely go for a pre 74 car, the later ones were of worse build quality because British Leyland! The owners club is good, parts supply excellent and the only slight downside is fuel thirst....

and also put a carb tuning kit on your to buy list , the carbs always need setting up
