1999 Nissan Micra K11 1.0 'Inspiration'*

MOT June 2019

Had £170 (with receipt) spent on it for the MOT plus two recent new front tyres and a new battery

89,000 miles (or just under, I think)check out the comical MOT history, though I suppose at least someone's done loads of welding to it in the recent past.

It looks truly awful, dented all over the shop, bits of primer showing etc, bit thuddy from rear over speed bumps and I think the right hand drive shaft is 'clicky' on full lock.

Seems to drive ok though and engine sounds great, plus starts first time. Decent CD player, and the world famous* Cavcraft dog has been in this car.

£195, Chester.

Could do with it gone asap, ideally.

*Inspiration for what, I dread to think.

All the Asian pizza drivers in Sheff have these. Most are Aleppo spec.

I've had one myself and known a lot of people who have had them too, never heard of one being killed by mechanical failure, only tinworm.

Mrs T's ex had one of these. Utterly indestructable mechanicals. I think he had it for about 5 years and did nothing more than put petrol in it for that period of time. It had moss growing all over it, the interior looked like a skip, and he didn't even know where the bonnet pull was.

Ended it's days by being driven into the back of something else. It collapsed like a pre-folded origami squeezebox, but still drove just fine.

Has it got Diamondbrite, a 200 point check and a 20 year 1,000,000 mile warranty m8?!

Love these. Dealer sticker, plates and mudflaps. I would love to show this, spend hours slicking the tyres. Brilliant.

Seconded. I need to feel like a worthwhile member of society again.

Has been in the car - or has *been* in the car?

There's a subtle yet important difference...

The latter would certainly have improved it!

Nothing too unusual question wise so far, just endless rounds of ‘still for sale?’ and the usual stupid bloody questions about length of MOT, location and mileage, plus people asking if it’s automatic. All of which are answered in the advert.

Anyhow, the ‘still for sale’ mob are the new nuisances, you answer and they don’t reply. Now I just reply once, then after a couple of hours I message back every 30 minutes or whatever and just keep telling them it’s still for sale.

Sometimes after one reply from me (which they’ve seen) I just give it some time and block them.

Christ almighty. Years MOT, ace reliability for under £200. Why don’t cars like this when they come up get snapped up straight away? Best of luck with sale.

I know I shouldn't be tempted with this but I do love these little cars. Chester is way to bloody close as well. If you were to put it up for raffle I'd be interested.

Nice! Another dented K11! Love these. Can afford it amazingly enough. But too much on my plate at the moment. I'm also looking after* (loose term) Ma's K11.

A new one tonight:

'Is this available?'

Yes, still available.

'What's the 0-60?'

Goodbye.

'Where about are you?'

(ignored)

'I was only asking because I need it delivering'

Can't help you with that, but know someone who could.

'Will they deliver it (effectively a 100 mile round trip) for £40?'

I doubt it, but you can ask them.

'Send me their details'

(Sends details)

'What did they say?

What did who say?

'The person who can deliver'

You tell me.

'Thought you were asking'

I'm not asking, it's not me who wants it moving.

'Let me know what they say'

I have no intention of finding out.

'Ok'

I left conversation at that point.

One of the local takeaway drivers has one just like this but with a green door and front bumper. Just as bashed about.

Pretty sure it's also had the rear side window put through too, probably an argument over whether they get the food free cos it took him 31 minutes.

Anyway, I know this because I saw him delivering some food and he just has the bags lined up on the back seat and lifts it out through the hole :-)

All three, all at the same time.

If it doesn't go soon, pretty sure I have a slide (dent) puller somewhere, might have a practise with it. If (when) that fails I'll Dulux it in stupid colours, paint Durex down the sides and take a photograph of it on the Wirral, pretending it's been on a banger rally called 'Pox to the Port' and eBay it.
