indeed I do already have a copy but its very cool to see, I have not managed to scan it in tho so that probably would not be a bad idea  (I am curious what yours is in as it looks like a pretty big book compared to the magazine I have)

(for anyone reading it do take heed that some of the facts and figures are a bit off, like the Invacar Mk12 was introduced in 1960 and the Invacar Mk9 never really existed beyond a few prototypes etc! and they Call a Harper Mk6 an Invacar Mk10A LOL)

Yeah the noise is always mightily impressive   especially  from the jets, makes me sad im unlikely to ever hear/witness a Vulcan fly by

A Vulcan Scramble, with 3 of them rolling at the same time, is pretty ground shaking.

It used to be a feature of the airshows at Finningley in the late 70s early 80s.

Indeed, I don't think any microphone could capture the real sound of a Vulcan. And even if it could you'd need some bloody big speakers to get the volume right.

Yep. 40 years on its still very memorable.

The airfield layout was set up so that the perimeter track was curved and joined the runway at the end so that they could start the take off run before even getting onto it. Every second counts if you've got 4 minutes to be out of the blast radius.

on the Invacar front, Frazer has managed to (literally) drag the ravine car out of the ravine  

it kinda looks like how I feel most of the time, but a few bits are salvageable, like the rear quarter panel with the good wheel arch was saved intact so that will make for a good repair section

the rest of the Fibreglass is being binned off soon (but hopefully the rear bathtub can be kept as that looks to be in good shape) so if anyone spots any small section they might need let me know! (cc @Zelandeth )

otherwise any and all bits (including the engine) are free for the taking if anyone needs anything let me know and ill get you in touch   (sadly the gearbox was full of water so I think thats done for!)

its one I have known about (I have that exact same screenshot of an image) for many years now, but I have never seen anything else of it knowingly 

I have some ideas of which it might but nothing solidly concrete, I know an white and blue Mk12 something I think different from ONO454D that was said to be in Tipperary, Ireland (note the DoneDeal watermark)

but I dont know which that one is for sure, needs more chasing up! (tho I do wonder if the picture of the white and blue Mk12 being held together with a plank is the same one as this/that one)

as I know @Zelandeth's Model 70 (another air-cooled Flat twin CVT driven vehicle ) is also set fairly advanced in its ignition timing (compared to the book value anyhow!)

and I know TPA generally goes pretty well

By sheer fluke I managed to catch the marks aligned in that photo if you look closely.

This rises to 43° at...quite a lot of rpm.

Didn't have the tach hooked up, but it seemed reasonable to my ear.  I didn't recall the manual giving a total timing measurement anyway, just at idle...so it was more just to confirm the centrifugal mech was working smoothly.

That 15° is rather a lot more advanced than the manual calls for...

Especially as the amendment there seems to suggest they were basically setting things up for zero advance...I know they were running on two star fuel, but even so...

15° sounds a reasonable number to me, though I've not a huge amount of experience messing with this sort of thing.  Definitely sounds better than zero!

For comparison, did we ever get a note of what TWC has her timing set to, either on the current or original engines?

it makes me all the more curious to know what timing @dollywobbler's TWC is set to given the performance gap!

(I also wonder what REV is set too! I dont even know if her distributor is free or if its sized like it is on TWC and TPA)

its also interesting to read you got 85 out of the DAF given the similar configuration that is to the Model 70 and the fact that 82Mph is the often quoted top speed of a Model 70!

its something I have never been able to verify sadly, but its interesting to hear a similarly equipped vehicle is so capable  which gives some credence to it

not yet sadly

but things are getting there @red5 has got her running on the "new" carb and he got the original mechanical fuel pump working as well 

so with that big issue out of the way, hopefully its not long now since its mostly smaller tasks that need sorting out now, but obviously Red5 has to fit in around work etc so I cant put an exact time on when she will be back sadly

but I am really hoping it is soon! I do really want to have REV back! but its obviously one of those it takes as long as it takes

I think there are enough Model 70's floating around on the forum that we could actually recreate the shot in entirety with all 9 Model 70's  (especially as Adam has KPL139P which of course is a close relation to KPL29P in the first shot  )

She's just been sitting around, haven't used her since the end of April as I've not gotten around to rebuilding the brakes, I've been so busy with work and other commitments. I asked about 4 local classic car garages but none seemed interested so I'm just going to have to take a weekend off at some point and just crack on with it.
