Liked for all but the last two paragraphs @Mac69400 I hope you can enjoy your two remaining vehicles whilst winning the daily battles, and even if ultimately not the war I hope that point is some way off.  There are a few C15 owners on here, so you never know when one might pop up for sale!

Thanks very much. I'll keep my eyes out for a C15, definitely. I'd probably swap the Custom for one!

Hello, all. This place seems to cover a lot of the random crap I find interesting. And its comforting to see I'm not alone in the buy the cheapest example, spend too much and sell at an overall loss process of buying and selling cars.

Congratulations, that's very much my buying model too. Underdogs ftw!

better say hello too.I've terrible history of buying bangernomic style cars - Subaru outback 3.0 now, low milage at just over one light second, before that a purple S500 W220 which became shed of the week on PistonHeads when I sold it. I've had better stuff too, MX5 turbo, Caterham, Renault Alpine GTS turbo, 420G P5B etc etc but now down to one car due to ULEZ and a couple of Mallock clubman's cars. Most of the time in London I just use my motorbike. It's by far the best mode of transport here

Yes. 190K miles. Still fine apart from me having to fit a new rear subframe last year. Why do all Japanese cars rot out rear subframes?

If you're interested and the website allows me I'll upload a photo of my Mallock B Sport. Clubmans cars are the most Autoshite of all racing cars. Mine is about 45 years old with an Escort engine and gearbox, a BMC back axle with Ford internals, Triumph Herald uprights, and a space frame of half inch square section. Fast but cheap* to run.

Looks like I may have forgotten to introduce myself on here! Well, according to my profile history I haven't made any posts (though pretty sure I made a few?).
So here goes,
I'm Rob, currently an avid beliver in the theory of bangernomics. Since selling my mk2 Skoda Octavia at the start of lockdown for £700, I've progressed through a mk2 MX-5 (wife's choice), bought for £750 with 12months MOT, sold for £750 with  weeks MOT and sold the hardtop seperate 😅, got a Jaguar S-type that needed some work for £1100 and made a profit on that too, then had my first wrong move and picked up a 2.2D Avensis in a hurry which promptly failed the MOT on too much to list 4 months later. So with the scrap money from that got a 1998 Corolla 1.3GS, 3 owners from new, 98k and most of the service history. Looking forward to seeing other peoples projects/sheds and seeing what my next buy will be!

Hello, I'm new around here, thought as I have seen the light and bought a £1k 2008 Vectra C SRI, with a dent on every panel - I will fit in around these parts, how fun it is to drive a shite car, so dam liberating!!!

Fun forum I have read a few posts already, especially the bangernomic ones.

Greetings all!

Long time lurker, having only recently got my shiny bit of plastic that says I'm allowed to drive around unsupervised. My first motorised money pit is, unsurprisingly, a 2007 Kia Picanto GS that I managed to wangle from my dad. Well, it was either that or the 2006 *stra that he has, which is currently running on three cylinders... I come from good stock honestly!

Cheers,

Jon

Greetings all,

"New Old Stock" member here.... I originally joined in about 2013 but haven't been on since about 2014 - that profile appears to have been lost to the march of progress, so I am instead appearing as a reincarnation. Also been on the Facebook group since forever but I'm told that is almost a separate entity these days!

I'm good friends IRL with horriblemercedes, and came with him to Shitefest this year where I met a few of you.  I also know a couple of the old members from other past fora (is Albert Ross still around?).
A scientist by day and tinkerer at weekends, I'm originally from the rural fields of Cheshire but currently living in a part of Liverpool that's usually on fire...

I have (and have had) a varied list of shite over the years:

Current:
1982 Land Rover Series 3 88" CSW - The Red Shed
1957 Bedford RL Green Goddess - The Khaki Horror (supposedly one day going to be a camper once I can actually make it run first)
1998 Vauxhall Omega CDX - The Exceedingly Silly Trackday Car (previously co-owned with horriblemercedes who now has a much more sensible actual racing car)
1990 Westland Sea King HAS.6 (cockpit section) - My Big Chopper
19?? Rolls Royce/Rover Meteor V12 - Project Thunder

Previous:
2000 Land Rover Discovery diseasel  - The one with the chassis made from recycled Quality Street tins
2004 Range Rover L322 V8 - BMW "quality" but more OMFGHGF and electrical dramas than anything designed by AustinRover....
2006 Jeep Commander Hemi - Best car I've ever owned, as long as you didn't have to look at the outside of it 🤢
1910 (2005) 1/4 Scale Marshall 7NHP Traction Engine - Cos the real thing was a bit too impractical, even for me!

Thanks everyone! :)

I had tried to include some pics in my post but it seems I chose the wrong method of hosting  (I've uploaded them this time but can't figure out how people are inserting them into the text?), so hopefully this attempt will work!

Picture one is the current fleet, picture two is the ghosts of autoshite past

Hi All,

Joined a while ago but never post much on forums, much more a lurker.  Extensive history of shite including Jeep GC's, Passats and a variety of others including the classic MX5 - owned for 2 years, driven for about 30 miles!

Due to leg injury now restricted to autos, so currently have a 2010 Combo Tour (basically a Corsa C but van shaped and Easytronic) and probably the cheapest MOT'd auto Boxster in the country.
